Answer: He was in the water.
Question: It is explained Peter Sam's funnel was damaged when he crashed. How did the crash damage his funnel?
Answer: A truck hit it.
Answer: It's possible he banged his funnel on something during the accident.
Question: Where does Rusty go to be repaired, as he is the only narrow gauge diesel? Does the diesel works have narrow gauge tracks?
Answer: The diesel works don't have narrow gauge tracks
A Better View for Gordon - S5-E3
Question: Why did Gordon need help to get out of the wall? Couldn't he have just chuffed out?
Answer: His wheels were destroyed.
Question: Most of the characters on this show are male. Why is that?
Answer: Female characters in literature, movies, television, etc. are commonly and historically less prevalent than male ones. It's an inherit gender bias that continues to exist within male-dominated industries. This same bias exists against characters of color and other orientations.
It's also a really old show that would've been fairly male run.
Answer: Butch the breakdown truck must have pulled Gordon's tender all the way up the rails so the breakdown train can reach it and also Butch helped to get Gordon close to the winch.
