Blue Bloods

Confessions - S7-E9

Continuity mistake: We can see Jamie driving a Ford CVPI with plates reading 7554, however when he appears in the following shot in the court, where he was going to in the previous scene, he's driving a Chevy Impala with plates 61795. I am not sure, but I think this error happened in the previous seasons as well. (00:09:08 - 00:09:48)

The Truth About Lying - S4-E4

Continuity mistake: Danny and Linda are hugging after Danny tells the boys to go pay your respects to the WWII Memorial. In the next shot they are standing apart as when he told them to go pay their respects to the memorial. (00:54:34)

Worst Case Scenario - S6-E1

Continuity mistake: During the stakeout of the apartment building, in the exterior shots of the Clyde Motorcycles shop, Danny is peeking out through a ripped paper opening within the letter "D" in Clyde. However, in the interior shots the black tape letters of the word Clyde differs. The paper is ripped between the two letters "D" and "E" and that space within the "D" is blocked with molding, making what is in the exterior shots quite impossible. (00:15:40)

Down the Rabbit Hole - S6-E20

Continuity mistake: At the end of the episode, a screen shot of Nicki occurs. A day or so earlier, she had been kidnapped and pistol whipped across the face. But this screen shot shows no bruises or swelling or anything, despite being hit so hard she fell over in a chair just a day or so before. (00:40:00)

Nightmares - S3-E7

Continuity mistake: In the very first episode Frank Reagan is getting dressed to go to Jamie's graduation ceremony. He slips on his watch and then takes a ring with a blue stone (looks sort of like a class ring) and puts it on. It is definitely and obviously a large blue stone. Then in this episode, near the end, when Frank is sitting at the bar talking to Garrett, as Frank lifts his drink in his right hand, and Garrett says "Thank you, Frank", that "class ring" has a very definite and obviously large red stone. Warriors - S3-E15

Continuity mistake: Jamie's car is suddenly yellow when offering driving lessons. In previous episodes, the car is blue. (00:40:18 - 00:41:16)

The Greater Good - S7-E1

Continuity mistake: As the couple with their two children are walking down the street, the daughter, Sophie, is holding latex helium balloons which are the transparent type, but after she and her mother are struck by the reckless drunk driver, when the balloons float away they are the opaque type. Power of the Press - S5-E8

Continuity mistake: In the first two shots of the family dinner Henry is holding his fork up in his left hand, but in the third shot from behind him (facing the family) his raised left hand is empty with his fork lying across the plate, then it's back up in his hand in the fourth shot. (00:21:10)

Justice Served - S4-E8

Higher Education - S3-E8

Continuity mistake: At the start of the episode, when Frank opens/closes the refrigerator door we see the door's layout, and the door bin cover is under the top shelf compartment. As he makes himself the sandwich Erin and Nicky walk in, and when Nicky opens the fridge door it's an entirely different interior style with the door bin cover at the top.

To Protect and Serve - S4-E3

Continuity mistake: During the courtroom hostage scenes, when Raoul Delgado and Erin are on the phone with Danny there are some closeups of the gun Delgado is holding. After Delgado hangs up on Danny, when he slams the gun into Jack's temple and orders Erin to go with him, in these closeups the gun is noticeably different. (00:30:55)

To Protect and Serve - S4-E3

Continuity mistake: After Danny shoots Delgado, he kneels down and holds Erin at her right side with his back facing the car (driver's door is open), but in the next shot Danny is kneeling at Erin's left side with his front now facing the car, as seen in the live feed Frank is watching on the monitor. The live feed is not backwards, note the open driver's door, etc. (00:34:35)

Dedication - S1-E15

Continuity mistake: When Danny gets into gunfight with Rory Brennan at Whitey's facility, keep a good eye on Rory's gun. After Danny shoots him, the gun drops out of his hand onto the ground between his legs. When Danny goes down the staircase, the gun is back in Brennan's hand, so Danny uses his foot to bring the gun to the floor...for the 2nd time. (00:29:50 - 00:30:35)

Unwritten Rules - S4-E1

Continuity mistake: Danny drives up to the police station. Erin is waiting for him, leaning on the trunk of a police car. A different camera angle shows her standing up. Next shot she is leaning against the car again, then next shot she is standing.

Show generally

Question: Why why does Danny always yell, "hey!" When he's is a half a block from the perpetrators which gives the perpetrators 1/2 block head start running from Danny. Why doesn't he wait until he's close to him and he wouldn't have to chase him so far?

Answer: It's a common cop show plot device. If the police on the show always acted in the most logical way (i.e. not alerting a suspect to their presence) the show wouldn't have the opportunity for an exciting foot chase.
