The Reunion - S1-E14

Audio problem: When John grabs Olivia from the kitchen sink to rejoin the family (over the washing machine snip) the children's laughter sounds more like a canned echo, or studio audience response.

The Carnival - S1-E3

Factual error: After John-Boy reads the scary bedtime story to Jim-Bob and Elizabeth, when Elizabeth is lying in bed she's holding her Raggedy Ann doll, and in the closeup we can see the doll's Knickerbocker tag. This episode takes place in 1933 (the Chicago World's Fair is mentioned at the end), and the Knickerbocker Toy Company created this doll in the late 1960s. (00:09:30)

The Legend - S1-E11

Other mistake: During close-ups of the kids, Maryellen is the only one of the girls wearing very visible eyeliner and mascara, that weren't apparent in earlier episodes.

The Bicycle - S1-E23

Factual error: While Ann is on the Walton's swing telling Curtis that he deceived and lied to her, when Curtis gets back into his car, a modern vehicle is visible at the right side of the screen, which is inappropriate for the time period. (00:46:10)

An Easter Story - S1-E25

Factual error: When Mary Ellen brings G.W. into the woods to practice dancing together, she opens up a magazine and shows him a movie still of Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers. The problem is the photo is a still from Fred and Ginger's dance in the movie "Swing Time" (at 00:28:00 within that movie) which premiered August 1936 (and was filmed that year), but this episode takes place more than two years prior, in early 1934. An Easter Story - S1-E25

Continuity mistake: When Olivia asks John to go with them to Sunday services, in the wideshots Erin is sitting on the arm chair and Jim-Bob is rocking away in the rocking chair, but in the few shots facing John or Zeb we see the rocking chair and arm chair are empty. (00:04:10)

An Easter Story - S1-E25

Factual error: After Olivia realises she has polio, when John goes downstairs the radio is on and we hear an excerpt from President Roosevelt's fireside chat about upcoming Labor Day. The problem is this aired on the radio right before Labor Day in 1936, but Olivia contracts polio very early 1934. (00:22:35)

An Easter Story - S1-E25

Continuity mistake: The Baldwin sisters buy Olivia a wooden wheelchair, and when Zeb brings it into the bedroom the camera tilts downward and we see Zeb's legs behind the chair. Later, after Mary Ellen and G.W. dance for Olivia it cuts to a closeup of the wheelchair, but it's actually the earlier shot because we still see Zeb's legs and he's not even in the room. An Easter Story - S1-E25

Visible crew/equipment: While Mary Ellen walks home with G.W. after the Sunday services they're alone, and when G.W. tells her, "People learn how to dance," right at the start of the next shot we can see the blue shirt of a crew member at the lower left side of the screen. (00:08:30)

The Townie - S1-E24

Visible crew/equipment: When John-Boy picks up Sarah at her house and also later when he brings her back, the reflections of crew members and equipment can be seen in the window, behind the clothesline. (00:02:10 - 00:08:50)

The Townie - S1-E24

Continuity mistake: When John-Boy goes to Sarah's house to pick her up for the double-feature picture show, he tells her mother good morning and we see the shadows being cast outside The House. Later, after the double feature, when John-Boy and Sarah get back to her house in the afternoon, all of the shadows are still being cast in precisely the same direction as that morning, which is impossible. Also, in Sarah's closeup after she gets out of the truck and when John-Boy rushes after her, the white fence's shadow is completely different than the previous and following wideshots. The Townie - S1-E24

Factual error: After John-Boy and Sarah's date at the double-feature, during the ride back home when John-Boy tells Sarah that there's nothing to makeup and he's not mad, through the windshield a modern car is parked directly ahead of the moving truck. (00:08:25)

The Townie - S1-E24

Deliberate mistake: When Ted sees Ep's roadblock he turns the LaSalle around to avoid the sheriff, and the next wideshot of Ted and Sarah driving down the road is a flipped shot, note everything is backwards. (00:36:45)

The Reunion - S1-E14

Continuity mistake: After Emily Baldwin makes the lemonade toast, when it cuts to the Walton house John-Boy tells everyone to close their eyes, and in Olivia's closeup we can see the raised base of the washing machine between her and Elizabeth, but it's not until three shots later that Ike and John bring the machine in from the porch. The Reunion - S1-E14

Ike: How's it feel to be a working man?
John-Boy: Ike, Mama would skin me alive! Everyone knows those two ladies make bootleg whiskey.
Ike: But they don't know what they're doing. They're just following their papa's Recipe.
John-Boy: But sometimes they sell it!
Ike: Yeah, but they're just like two little girls by a roadside selling lemonade.

The Premonition - S9-E5

Trivia: When Jason and John-Boy are at the French restaurant John-Boy suggests Vichyssoise soup, but Jason tells his brother he's not a fan of that soup. In 8x10 "The Silver Wings," Serena worked on getting the cooking merit badge, and during the meal (which Corabeth helped plan) Serena served Vichyssoise soup, and Jason's facial expression when he tastes it helps explain why he is not a big fan.
