Continuity mistake: In this episode Jean Stapleton plays two characters. As Edith Bunker her earrings change from gold that curve below her lobes to white round ones later in the show.

Continuity mistake: In every episode that shows the upstairs of the Bunker household, Gloria's bedroom is across from Archie and Edith's bedroom. The exception is the fire that occurred in the Bunker's bathroom, in this episode, the bathroom is across from Archie and Edith's bedroom. All the shows after this episode, the bedroom is now across from Archie and Edith's bedroom again.

Continuity mistake: Season 6, episode 2 "Alone At Last": Archie knocks an open bottle of salad dressing off the kitchen table. However, a few moments later, the bottle is back on the table, not having spilled a drop.

Other mistake: Archie goes out to the outside front porch to paint it. At the end of every show, the house they show doesn't have an outside front porch.

Revealing mistake: As with many shows, the outside doesn't even come close to matching the inside layout.

Trivia: The LaSalle - a GM car produced in the 1930s - was immortalized in the opening credits when Jean Stapleton sang the line "Gee, our old LaSalle ran great." However, the line was somewhat slurred at first and people wrote in asking what she was saying. In later seasons the opening was refilmed and Stapleton sang the line slower and more phonetically so it could be understood.
