House, M.D.

DNR - S1-E9

Deliberate mistake: When extubating the patient from the respirator, the patient would have been sedated as to not cause discomfort or pain so they can die peacefully. Furthermore, the ET tube is seen being taken out, but it cuts so the actor can hold it in his mouth without choking, but in real circumstances, it's not nearly long enough to go down the trachea.

Autopsy - S2-E2

Factual error: When Andie is going in for her MRI, Chase starts the machine with Andie's steel IV pole in the room. No doctor would ever do that considering the damage that would be done to machine and patient. (00:05:45)

Greg Dwyer

Joy to the World - S5-E11

Continuity mistake: When House steals Wilson's ice cream, the ice cream gets bitten more than once even though House only takes one bite at it. (00:12:45)

noogie

Transplant - S8-E2

Revealing mistake: When Wilson punches House in the face, is it painfully evident that he doesn't connect.

Knever

The Tyrant - S6-E3

Continuity mistake: In the scene where the patient is having a heart attack, Dr Cameron is shown on the phone to House with dark hair despite having had blonde hair since season 4. She has blonde hair again in the following scene. (00:10:30 - 00:11:30)

Charity Case - S8-E3

Continuity mistake: House is in the cafeteria eating chips with Adams discussing a case. Park walks up and gives Adams a cup of coffee. The cup of coffee disappears and reappears during the whole scene. The coffee is in front of Adams, then isn't. Towards the end the coffee is far to the side rather than where it originally was set. (00:17:10 - 00:18:45)

TB or Not TB - S2-E4

Continuity mistake: When Dr. Cameron is walking with Dr. Charles to go for a procedure, he barely has any facial hair before they enter the stairwell, but once they reach the stairwell his facial hair has increased quite a bit. His hair is also parted to the left prior to entering the stairwell and once in the stairwell it is parted on both sides.

Act Your Age - S3-E19

Continuity mistake: In the last scene where Wilson is in House's office talking about Cuddy, the tennis ball on House's desk continuously changes position between shots.

Man of the House - S8-E13

Revealing mistake: When Park is taking pictures of Adam's cleavage, the camera is turned off. The lens is retracted into the camera.

Act Your Age - S3-E19

Continuity mistake: When Cameron apologizes to Chase at the coffee machine, Chase's hair goes from in and out of his left eye between shots without him touching it.

It's A Wonderful Lie - S4-E10

Continuity mistake: A third of the way into the show when Hadley and House are arguing while walking out of House's office, Hadley's necklace watch is backwards and out of the top of her blouse. When they stop walking and switched to a shot of House then back to Hadley, her necklace watch is right-side front and inside the top of her blouse.

Fools for Love - S3-E5

Character mistake: After the differential, House instructs his team to start the patient on "Fluoroquinolone." A fluoroquinolone is a type of drug, not a drug itself. (00:04:58)

Son of Coma Guy - S3-E7

Factual error: House makes a person have a seizure by switching the light on and off. This would not cause a person to have seizure as it takes more flickering than that to trigger a seizure in people with photosensitive epilepsy.

The Jerk - S3-E23

Factual error: The boy plays a game of chess at a tournament against some other person. The camera only shows a few pictures of the board, however, when the boy says "goodbye" and the game ends, due to an allegedly checkmate, the following is shown: the opponents king is on f7, with his own figures all around but e8 and h7-9 being free. On h5 is the boy's rook which attacks the h7, h8 and h9 fields. Now the boy moves his bishop to h6, thus attacks f7 (where the king is) and e8 (the only free spot but h6-8). Now of course h6, f7 and e8 are not available to the king anymore, but as the bishop blocks the rooks attack on the h-line, the king now has the fields h7 and h8 to go to. Thus it's by no means "checkmate." (00:01:00)

David Zweistein

Runaways - S8-E10

Factual error: When Dr. House is in the treatment room with a patient that has a gunshot wound to his foot, he removes a bloody dressing and treats the area without wearing gloves. No health professional would do this.

House Divided - S5-E22

Continuity mistake: During the scene in which House is offering up liquor-flavored ice cream he sets the containers in a row down the table 1-2-3-4-5. He then puts spoons in the three containers closet to Foreman, 1-2-3. The shot changes and before anyone touches the spoons they are now in containers 1, 2, and 4.

Guy

Whatever It Takes - S4-E6

Continuity mistake: After Amber hangs up after trying to call House, the angle changes and suddenly her phone is nowhere to be seen.

littlestar

Forever - S2-E22

Character mistake: House says to Chase "I've got a dead baby for you to biopsy." A biopsy is a test performed on tissue from a living patient. He should have said 'autopsy' - the procedure performed on a dead person to determine how they died. House, as a doctor, would know this distinction. (00:32:45)

The Greater Good - S5-E14

Character mistake: The chef at the beginning is talking about mustard greens, but is actually holding up broccoli.

House, M.D. mistake picture

Here Kitty - S5-E18

Continuity mistake: Series 5, Episode 18, "Here Kitty": When Judy (the patient) holds the tape out for House before her bronchial attack, the way she holds it changes instantly. (00:13:45)

Fidelity (aka: Truth or Consequences) - S1-E7

House: As long as you're trying to be good, you can do whatever you want.
Dr. Wilson: And as long as you're not trying, you can say whatever you want.
House: So between us, we can do whatever we want. We can rule the world!

Trivia: Hugh Laurie auditioned for the role as Dr. Gregory House in his hotel room bathroom in Namibia. He was rehearsing his role for the film The Flight of the Phoenix and claimed that the bathroom was the only place with enough light. He also apologized for his appearance on tape before the audition as he'd just come back from filming. The fact that House has a somewhat scruffy and unkempt look, particularly his constant five o'clock shadow, has been attributed by creator David Shore to Laurie's appearance in this audition tape.
