Monk

Mr. Monk Is on the Run (2) - S6-E16

Continuity mistake: When Monk is at the hotel, a teenage girl comes in to clean up the room. While they are conversing, the subject of mysteries comes up and she goes out and gets the newspaper and places it in front of Monk on the table. They then talk a little more about it and Monk gestures with his hands for her to take the newspaper away and she then picks up the newspaper off the table and exits the room with it. During this entire sequence, you can see that Monk does not ever touch the newspaper. Later on, at the car wash, Mr. Monk sees a newly-painted red SUV that used to be silver colored. When recalling that the teenage girl said that they were looking for a silver SUV, it now shows Monk pushing the newspaper across the table towards the teenage girl even though he never touched it in the original scene. Mr. Monk's 100th Case - S7-E7

Continuity mistake: At the end, when he is talking to Natalie about quitting since he has solved an even number of crimes, Monk is peeling an orange. The peeling that he is letting dangle from the orange changes from above the counter to touching the counter and back to above the the counter, depending on the shot.

Mr. Monk and the Really, Really Dead Guy - S5-E15

Continuity mistake: In the scene where Monk mistakes the plasma TV for a blackboard, he writes the words "BODY MOVED" on the screen. Initially, he writes the "B" with an extra long vertical stroke; the next time we see the text, the vertical stroke is of a normal length. The text reads "BODY MOVED" when Monk stops writing, but when the FBI agent walks over to the screen to try to wipe it off, it has changed to "BODY M".

Mr. Monk and the Panic Room - S3-E2

Mr. Monk Makes A Friend - S5-E11

Mr. Monk and the Sleeping Suspect - S2-E7

Continuity mistake: Monk throws the bomb into the toilet and shuts the door, pulling it towards him. When we see him hit by the blast there's no door in the way, and in the reverse shot looking into the bathroom the door has swung open into the room again, despite the blast radiating outwards. Plus it should have destroyed the door anyway.

Mr. Monk and the End - Part II - S8-E16

Continuity mistake: Trudy mentions that she had a baby fathered by her professor on Jan 2nd, 1983, before she and Adrian met and 15 years before her death on Dec. 14th, 1997. However, according to the storyline (and the episode "Mr. Monk and the Reunion"), Adrian and Trudy had first met in college, both being in the graduating class of 1981.

Mr. Monk Can't See a Thing - S5-E4

Continuity mistake: The firehouse's number is 53, and is seen on the various fire trucks throughout the episode. However, in an establishing shot at the opening of the episode, you can see letters for "Eng. Company 1" and "Truck Company 1" over the garage door. This is because Fire Station 1, located in Los Angeles, was utilized for filming.

Mr. Monk and the Bully - S7-E14

Continuity mistake: When Monk and Natalie are arguing at Monk's apartment, Natalie is wearing a ponytail. However, when the scene cuts to them standing in Fendle's hotel room, Natalie's ponytail is gone, and does not reappear for the rest of the episode. It's the same day, however, since she's still wearing the same dark black coat in both scenes. The most likely explanation is that the scene in Monk's apartment was filmed concurrently with Natalie's scenes in "Mr. Monk Makes the Playoffs" - the black-collared shirt Natalie is wearing in the second half of the episode appears to be the same one she wears in the previous episode, where her hair is in a ponytail for most of her scenes. Suggested correction: Randy says when that uncle dies that they were never close, so his leaving him the farm comes as a total surprise. It's still a character mistake, however, Randy is established as the sort of person who could "blank out" a relative that long-lost.

Mr. Monk and the Garbage Strike - S5-E2

Question: Why would it have been political suicide if it was discovered that Mayor Nicholson was secretly meeting with Cusack to end the garbage strike? If anything, if the people found out that they were meeting to find a way to end the garbage strike, wouldn't that have made everybody happy considering how much garbage was piling up all over the city?

Answer: The two men are trying to work out a secret deal between them without involving the union, which means the workers' interests aren't being represented and defeats the whole purpose of a union. The mayor would lose labor's support and Cusack's union troubles would just be starting.
