Bushwhacked - S1-E2

Corrected entry: When discussing the Reavers, Shepherd Book has a cord sticking out between the back of his shirt and the back of his neck. It seems to be an audio cord but could be a part of his pony tail as well. Whatever it is, it's definitely out of place during the shot. (00:22:00)

Correction: Look closely when Mal responds to Book's philosophy of "a power greater than men, a power that heals". The cord is used to tie his hair back, it isn't an audio cord.

Jaynestown - S1-E4

Corrected entry: In the morning when Jayne comes down the tavern steps with a girl on his arm, Mal comes up to him and say something about "The living hero needs to made an appearance at the town square." Wwe hear Jayne say, "He does?" but his lips don't move.

Correction: You can easily and clearly say "He does?" without moving your lips at all.

Ariel - S1-E8

Corrected entry: When Simon is briefing Mal, Zoe and Jayne, his top changes from a blue shirt and waistcoat to a brown zipped top and back again several times.

Correction: Since the scene cuts back and forth from Simon training the trio, it's implied that they were practicing the lines for a long while, and Simon could easily have changed tops in that time without it being shown on screen.

Safe - S1-E7

Corrected entry: Near the end when Mal and Zoe show up to save Simon and River, who are about to be burned at the stake, Mal says "Gotta say Doctor, your talent for alienating folks, it's near miraculous". The subtitles say "Gotta say Doctor, [inaudible], it's near miraculous."

Correction: Subtitle mistakes are not valid on this site.

Bushwhacked - S1-E2

Corrected entry: When the Feds are searching Serenity for River and Simon (who are in spacesuits on the outside of the ship) one soldier picks up and flips over the placemats on the table. This is pointless because, obviously, there's nothing that could have been hiding under them.

Correction: There could have easily been code-words or passwords or really anything under the placemats. The alliance is obviously used to dealing with smugglers and knows quite a few of their tricks.

Bushwhacked - S1-E2

Corrected entry: When Simon enters the derelict ship wearing a space suit and sees everyone else without suits, he puts his flashlight down and starts struggling with his helmet. The viewpoint changes to show Kaylee moving toward him - with his flashlight beam waving over her face and body. Then we cut back to Simon, who is still struggling with the helmet with both hands - he's not holding the flashlight at all.

Correction: Simon was carrying his medical bag not a flashlight and this is what he puts down. The flashlight is attached to the helmet of his suit.

Trash - S1-E14

Corrected entry: Mal sprays the Lasseter with something that makes the red security alarm lights visible. In the next shot when he's kneeling beside it, they're suddenly invisible again.

Correction: He sprays the mist to make the lights visible, but the mist quickly disappates. He just needed to confirm that there was a security system in place so he could disarm it which he then proceeds to do.

Ariel - S1-E8

Corrected entry: When leaving the hospital on Ariel, Jayne is arrested along with Simon and River. His hands are cuffed behind his back. However, when he is stunned by the police officer a moment later and falls to the ground, his hands are in front of him and there is no sign of the cuffs. (00:25:30)

Correction: The cuffs are not on Jayne, yet. He breaks free before they have him fully cuffed.

That is not a true statement. His arms are still behind his back and it is a better assumption that he is handcuffed.

Ariel - S1-E8

Corrected entry: When Wash and Kaylee are in the junk yard, Wash picks up an engine part and kicks it. If you look closely, you can see that this is the same part that fails in "Out of Gas".

Correction: No, it isn't. The piece Wash throws (not kicks, by the way) is a completely different piece. In "Out of Gas" the engine part that fails is a Y-shaped tube. In "Ariel" the piece is very obviously F-shaped when you freeze frame.

Out of Gas - S1-E5

Corrected entry: Although the premise of the episode is the complete failure of Serenity's major systems (life support, navigation, etc.), the gravity stays on throughout the episode. "Stays on," because a ship would require a major, operational electromagnetic system to mimic gravity - or it would need to be in a controlled spin - either of which option would fail as the rest of the ship did. As well as freezing and asphyxiating, by the rules of the episode, Mal and the others should be floating throughout.

Correction: How is there gravity in the ship? Is it an active system (requiring power) or a passive system (always on)? It is never mentioned, in the brief series, how they maintain gravity on ships. The series is set hundreds of years into the future. You can't guess what future technology might be invented.

Serenity (2) - S1-E12

Corrected entry: Kaylee gets shot in the stomach and rushed to the infirmary, where Simon works on her for some hours. Then, once she's stabilized, Mal goes and opens Simon's shipping container, in which his sister is stashed. Several scenes later, Kaylee finally wakes up from her anesthesia while Mal is with her, and makes some comment about how pretty River is lying there, even though she (Kaylee) has been unconscious the entire time River's been out of the crate. She should be asking who this stranger is.

Rooster of Doom

Correction: It's blatantly obvious throughout that scene that Kaylee's doped to the gills, so she's not exactly firing on all cylinders. Even if she wasn't, Kaylee's about the most easy-going person on the ship, and it seems entirely in character for her to observe how pretty River is before worrying about who she actually is, particularly as, given that the girl's asleep in the sickbay, she's clearly not an imminent threat to the crew or ship.

Out of Gas - S1-E5

Corrected entry: During the commentary for Shindig, one of the costume designers comments on the leather bands Zoe wears around her neck, saying that they are a symbol of her marriage to Wash, which is why she 'never takes them off'. However, in the flashback scene showing the first meeting between Zoe and Wash, she is wearing the bands. (00:11:00)

Correction: So she was wrong in the commentary. Or, she was right. The commentary is not part of the show, so no mistake.

Ariel - S1-E8

Corrected entry: When Simon is using the defibrillator paddles on the post-operative patient in the hospital on Ariel, he is not holding onto the rubber handles of the paddles when he says "Clear." to have the nurse administer the first shock. Rather, he is holding onto the metal ends of the paddles right next to the shock pads. This means that he would have shocked himself as well as the patient. (00:19:35)

Correction: That would be true today, but the show is set several hundred years in the future. It is entirely possible in that time they have paddles that are completely safe except on the flat pads themselves.

Our Mrs. Reynolds - S1-E3

Corrected entry: Who would have thought that Serenity could have been damaged so badly so easily? In less than 30 seconds, Saffron pulls one cluster of wires and connects two others and manages to disable the ship to the point that Wash and Kaylee need a lot of time to fix it.

Correction: As stated in the show, Saffron was very prepared and practiced in many arts, including mucking navigation systems. While she only took a few steps to lock down Serenity, she knew the steps to do it the quickest.

Shindig - S1-E6

Corrected entry: When the man known as "William Cortland" is caught carrying a gun by the laser grid, it appears to be in his breast pocket. But when he hands it over, it's on his belt.

Correction: The gun he's carrying is not in his belt, but in the lower left pocket of his vest, which seems to be about the same height as the breast pocket of his suit coat.

Our Mrs. Reynolds - S1-E3

Continuity mistake: When Shepherd Book tells everyone about the electrical nets, Jayne says, "One day you're gonna tell us all how a preacher knows so damn much about crime." Shepherd then turns to leave. But in the immediate close up of him and Mal, he turns to leave again.

The Message - S1-E15

Trivia: The scene where Kaylee is in the engine room listening to Tracy's message again, on the work bench next to her hammock you can see a small figure of Han Solo frozen in carbonite from "Star Wars".
