Continuity mistake: Just before Michael says "You're going to pull the bullet out with your bare hands?", Sawyer's hair is very wet and pulled back, as if it were in a pony tail. When the camera switches back to Sawyer saying "You got a better idea?" his hair is a lot drier and covering his face. In the next shot, it is pulled back again.

Trivia: During the opening scene, when the camera cuts to the cabinet of drugs (shortly before the explosion heard in the distance), all the bottles of drugs have 'the numbers' on them - '4, 8, 15, 16, 23, 42'. Maybe obvious to some but worth looking out for.

Trivia: Much of the guitar work done in this film was by guitar hero Steve Vai, who also worked on PCU and, perhaps more famously amongst guitarists, Crossroads. Pretty much all the guitar licks which are played throughout the film when Bill & Ted play air guitar are played by Steve, as well as "The Reaper Rap" - in the end credits.

Trivia: Adding to the 'carpe dentum' contribution, if you look at Pierce Brosnan when Mrs Doubtfire gets up from the table, he is moments away from bursting out laughing. According to the commentary track on the dvd, it was this reference to Dead Poets Society that tickled Brosnan but he managed to keep a straight face and so they didn't need to reshoot.

Trivia: Near the end, when they are in court and Robin Williams makes his emotional closing statement, it actually had to be re-shot because the first time he did it, it was apparently just too much, and the crew were just left speechless. The director decided that this was perhaps a bit too much to take and so they re-shot it.

Question: I've never understood how the humans have such hi-tech technology. All of the hovercraft, APUs etc. How did they get them in the first place? The way I understand it is that the machines and the humans had a massive war at some point in the early 21st century (according to Morpheus) and, although the war is still going on now, the machines have effectively won. Humans forced into one city underground and the machines with all their...machines. I don't understand how the humans can use hovercraft, guns, etc. when surely they would have all had to have been made while they were in their little city.

Easter egg: On Disc 2 of the limited edition DVD, select the Clock icon on the main menu. When you get a series of questions, pick C for all of them, until you get 4 pics of a woman changing her tire, then put the pics in reverse order. If done right, the credits will start to play backwards, then the movie plays in the correct order with the phone call scenes being first.
