Question: When David steps on the land mine, the group rescues him by tying a rope around him and pulling while he runs. What exactly does this accomplish? It's impossible to outrun an explosion, much less pull someone to safety at supersonic speed.

Da 5 Bloods (2020)
Answer: Anti personnel mines usually have a small blast radius compared to a bomb or artillery shell. If they can pull him away quickly enough he can be clear of the blast.

Vantage Point (2008)
Character mistake: When Barnes is trying to describe what he saw, he awkwardly describes "something like a flash of light." A Secret Service agent would know that he had seen the muzzle flash from the gunshots. (00:17:40)

Vantage Point (2008)
Character mistake: After Barnes rescues the President, he radios in his location as "seven blocks east of the plaza." This is meaningless on the limited-access highway where they are located. Barnes has an excellent grasp of the local geography and would give their precise location with specific landmarks. (01:21:20)

Rob the Mob (2014)
Factual error: In the closing scene, Tommy and Rosie are in the car on Queens Plaza South and Vernon Blvd, next to the Queensboro Bridge. As the camera pans out, a bike lane configuration on Vernon Blvd can be seen that existed only between 2011 and 2013. (01:38:40)

Rob the Mob (2014)
Factual error: When Rosie calls Big Al's number, she gives his address as 41 Ocean Avenue in Howard Beach, Queens. Ocean Avenue runs from Prospect Park to Sheepshead Bay, entirely in Brooklyn, and does not enter Howard Beach. (01:05:00)

Fast & Furious 8 (2017)
Factual error: Throughout the "Manhattan" race scenes, it is obvious that the location is nowhere near New York. The wide two-way streets, west coast-style traffic signals, street furniture, and architecture look nothing like Manhattan.

Taking Lives (2004)
Plot hole: Most of the story depends on Costa coming forward as a witness; however, he would have had no reason to do this. It would only make his goal of assuming others' identities more difficult.
Suggested correction: Some serial killers try to involve themselves with the investigation, for instance famous serial killer Ed Kemper.

Where the Boys Are (1960)
Audio problem: When Merritt is arguing with her professor, she says, "We're supposed to be intelligent" but her lips are actually saying "Don't be afraid; my opinion is yes." This is the exact same shot used a moment later when she actually says this line. (00:07:10)

The Memory Keeper's Daughter (2008)
Factual error: When Caroline is opening the envelope from Dr. Henry, she removes a wad of cash. They are modern bills; the large corner numbers weren't introduced until the late 1990s. (00:32:30)

Righteous Kill (2008)
Factual error: Spider's club is shown on 125th Street in Harlem, but whenever the officers radio in the location, they say 184th & St. Nicholas, which is in Washington Heights over 3 miles north.

Deception (2008)
Factual error: When McQuarry first sees "S" on the subway platform, the train that pulls in is supposed to be a 6 but is obviously the 42nd Street shuttle. The window rollsigns list Times Square and Grand Central as the termini, but the 6 does not terminate at Grand Central and doesn't even serve Times Square. (Also, the station where they get on is recognizable as the Times Square shuttle platform, and "S" gets off at the Grand Central shuttle platform, neither of which is served by the 6 train.). Deception (2008)
Character mistake: McQuarry enters the subway at the 103rd Street station on the 1. He is transferring to the 2/3 at Chambers Street when Bose approaches him. However, it makes no sense to transfer here. As someone who knows New York, McQuarry would transfer to the 2/3 at 96th Street to benefit from the express ride to Chambers. (01:03:05)

Salt (2010)
Trivia: In the scene where Salt jumps off the subway, the dark and heavily guarded station is supposed to be the 51st Street Station on the IRT Lexington Avenue Line in Manhattan, the nearest station to St. Bartholomew's Church. However, it is recognizable as an IND Station by the thick tiled columns, indented green-striped walls, and the wider train, and is in fact the Hoyt-Schermerhorn Station in Brooklyn, with its signs covered by the number "51". State of Play (2009)
Factual error: When Robert Bingham is shooting at Cal, an MPD (Washington, DC) squad car shows up. However, the scene is set in Crystal City in Arlington, Virginia, outside of MPD's jurisdiction. Arlington County Police would have responded instead. (01:13:05)

Factual error: The building where Della goes to find the pizza boy is not a hospital. It is the HUD building, which contains only government offices - no one could be hospitalized there. (00:41:50)

In Bruges (2008)
Factual error: Harry is supposed to have loaded his gun with expanding bullets before shooting Ray. Then the bullets are supposed to have gone through Ray, causing minimal damage, before blowing Jimmy the dwarf's head off. In reality, the bullets would have expanded upon impact with Ray, tearing up his torso and certainly killing him after the number of shots that he took. If any bullet fragments were to escape and hit Jimmy, they would not have caused the kind of damage depicted.

Shoot 'Em Up (2007)
Factual error: In the final standoff, Smith shoots Hertz by holding cartridges between his fingers in the fire. This is not remotely believable. The casings, weighing much less than the bullets, would have been blasted off while the bullets themselves would have gone nowhere. (01:15:15)

Answer: Yes, I think the blast of a land mine usually goes straight up, unless it's a bouncing Betty.
