Plot hole: When the Griswolds are at Wally World, supposedly the only people there are the guards. Who operates the rides for them?

Upvote valid corrections to help move entries into the corrections section.

Suggested correction: The guards also knew how to operate the rides.

Original mistake is correct. There were only 2 guards. 1 they kidnapped. The other they left lying like a dog until he could call the police. Therefore, there was nobody to operate the rides. Besides amusement parks don't train security to operate the rides.

lartaker1975

Factual error: The amount of people on the ship is very unrealistic. Although the low number of people is to benefit the plot, there should have been cooks, waiters, deckhands, boiler room engineers, cleaners etc. (00:40:00)

Suggested correction: Well there was a deckhand and boiler room workers. As for cooks, etc, they were on a class trip taking no more than a few hours. They didn't need all that.

lartaker1975

Corrected entry: It is never explained how Jason appears at the beginning of the film in his normal hulking form since the end of the previous film showed him being washed away from toxic waste in the sewers of New York City and turning into a little boy.

jbrbbt

Correction: The boy was another of Rennie's hallucinations. Jason awoke presumably after the toxic waste dried out the next day and retrieved his slightly melted mask then made his way back to Crystal Lake. The mask he has belonged to Jim Miller, who he took the mask from in part 8, as his other one was destroyed by Tina Shepard in part 7. Why there was an axe mark in Jim Miller's mask is anyone's guess. Probably authenticity, as it was national news that Jason Voorhees wore a hockey mask. Also, the writer/director of Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan has stated on DVD documentaries and in books that he wanted to portray Jason Voorhees as more of a supernatural spiritual entity rather then just a walking corpse. Rennie's "visions" were more than just her own hallucinations because her dog saw one of them earlier on in the film.

Joey221995

Correction: This movie was made as if the previous movie didn't exist. Just ignored it altogether.

lartaker1975

Continuity mistake: When Debbie is in the tent with her boyfriend, she gets a condom out of the wrapper and throws it aside, still in the tent. Later on, the wrapper is outside the tent, because we see Jason step on it.

Upvote valid corrections to help move entries into the corrections section.

Suggested correction: We see her toss it. Don't see where it landed. Could have easily gone out the tent flap.

lartaker1975

Other mistake: Where were the crime scene people? Jessica goes to her mom's house and her friend from the diner is cleaning up the blood? Highly unlikely.

Upvote valid corrections to help move entries into the corrections section.

Suggested correction: We don't know how much time has passed since she was killed. Crime scene people would have come and gone. And what's wrong with her friend cleaning up the blood? She's just being a good friend.

lartaker1975

I highly doubt in a murder scene the police would make you clean it up! Think about that.

Amy Emerick Tice

That's absolutely what happens: https://www.aftermath.com/content/who-cleans-up-murders/. https://www.biohazardresponse.com/blog/three-things-you-need-to-know-when-your-home-is-a-crime-scene/ Once evidence is dealt with, everything left isn't the responsibility of the police to clean up. Most people would hire cleaners rather than do such an unpleasant job themselves, but it's the responsibility of the property owners to clean.

That's just your opinion. Unless you know police procedure in every state then you can't make that assumption.

lartaker1975

Character mistake: In the movie they grab Genghis Khan in 1209 which would have been correct, he ruled Mongolia from 1206 to 1227. In the presentation at the end they say in 1269 he did this and that, that would have been Kublai Khan's reighn of terror in Mongolia.

Suggested correction: Bill and Ted have proven not to be that smart. Easy for them to get those things confused.

lartaker1975

It was also an excuse for a callback to the "69, dude!" joke from earlier in the film; whether Bill and Ted intentionally got that detail wrong just for the sake of a joke is anyone's guess.

Halloween (1978)

Corrected entry: In the opening scene, after young Michael comes out of the house with the bloody knife and his parents see him, they only utter the words "Michael?" and stand there, staring at him with their hands in their pockets. Don't you think they would be curious as to why the knife is bloody and go inside? They don't seem disturbed at all. (00:06:30)

Correction: Bad acting, sure, but hardly a plot hole. Given that Michael was carted off to a mental institute, it's pretty obvious that they did eventually do all of the things you mention. Besides, if you came home to find your kid wandering around with a blood smeared knife, you'd probably be a little shocked to do anything immediately too.

Correction: It's also Halloween night. More than likely they thought it was part of his costume.

Toy Soldiers (1991)

Continuity mistake: When Luis Cali is strapping Billy Tepper in the office, he is standing in front of the desk, while Billy is standing on the opposite side. Billy is facing him (while bending forward), so the strapping marks on Billy's back should be vertical, from head to butt, or at least diagonal. But later when the guys are cleaning the wounds, the marks are horizontal.

Suggested correction: We never see a close up of his hand or what direction it's facing. Purely speculation.

lartaker1975

Corrected entry: When Ellen and Catherine are chatting in the kitchen when they first arrive at their house, the subject of Aunt Edna comes up. Ellen remarks, "Aunt Edna, she's still alive?" In the next scene Edna comes out of the house and says, "You're the ones who sent me the fruitcake, it made me so sick". Why would Ellen send Aunt Edna a fruit cake for Christmas when she thought she was dead?

Correction: It's possible that maybe Ellen thought Aunt Edna had died sometime between Christmas and their current vacation, which is presumably sometime during the summer.

She never specified how long ago they sent the fruitcake.

lartaker1975

Other mistake: When Clark and the gang force the security guard onto the "screaming meemy" roller coaster, it starts to roll with no-one operating the controls.

Suggested correction: Every ride they ride would be a mistake as there was nobody to operate any of them.

lartaker1975

Other mistake: Rennie shouldn't have been able to get on the boat at all. Being high school students, they would need a permission slip signed by their legal guardian to board the ship, just like any field trip. And, it's obvious that Charles would not sign one allowing Rennie to board. He definitely voiced his objections to the female teacher. Rennie can't make that decision on her own as she did.

Upvote valid corrections to help move entries into the corrections section.

Suggested correction: It was a graduation field trip. They were no longer students. Therefore she didn't need permission.

lartaker1975

Corrected entry: When Harry, Ron, and Hermione are hiding from Filch, they find Fluffy, scream, and run away. But when they are speaking of it later, Hermione says something like "Honestly, don't you two have eyes? Didn't you see what it was standing on?" But it never shows Hermione looking down at the trap door when they were face-to-face-to-face-to-face with the three-headed dog.

Correction: The scene cuts frequently therefore she could have glanced down when the camera was not focusing on her face.

Correction: They first see Fluffy while looking down, then travelled all the way up to its face. That's when she saw the trap door.

lartaker1975

Corrected entry: In the flying practice scene, after Malfoy gets hold of Neville's rememberall, he flies up with his broom and, after dialogue with Harry, he throws the globe away. Harry, after flying at least twenty metres after it, catches the globe in front of McGonagall's window, which is at least on the eighth floor of a tower. When Harry flies back to the others and lands, McGonagall almost instantly comes up behind him. Now wasn't that a bit too fast? She can't have apparated, as no-one can do that on Hogwarts grounds.

Correction: There are many secret passages in Hogwarts, and as a teacher McGonagall should know most ,if not all, of them.

Correction: Also, as a skilled teacher, she probably apparated.

lartaker1975

Corrected entry: In the scene where the first years are sorted and Draco gets sorted into Slytherin, Ron says to Harry "There isn't a witch or wizard that went bad that wasn't in Slytherin." This statement is actually incorrect. Sirius Black, although actually innocent, was in Gryffindor when he was at school, as was Peter Pettigrew, an actual Voldemort follower.

Correction: It could be that Ron's just repeating a generalization he heard, or his own biased opinion. It stands to reason that Ron wouldn't even have known what house Sirius Black was in when he was at school years before, and since Sirius Black and Peter Pettigrew weren't even mentioned in this film, we'll never know.

LuMaria 1

Correction: At this point in the series, Wormtail being a follower wasn't known to anyone but Sirius.

lartaker1975

Continuity mistake: Outside the house when the last pillar on the porch breaks we can see Jason looking up and then to the side. When it cuts he looks up and to the side again. (01:12:30)

Upvote valid corrections to help move entries into the corrections section.

Suggested correction: It also shows him swinging the machete once before breaking in half. A machete wouldn't be strong enough to cut the log in half with just 1 swing. The log was obviously being struck before it broke.

lartaker1975

Continuity mistake: The scene where the AA couple is having sex in the van, the guy suddenly has shoes on when he exits looking for Jason. You see him supposedly putting on his pants under the covers, but no shoes.

Upvote valid corrections to help move entries into the corrections section.

Suggested correction: We don't see everything he does under the covers. Plus it cuts to the outside and showing him exit the van, but we are not given a time frame of how long he was in the van before he exit's it.

Continuity mistake: The gang shoots the mastermind's screen with a plastic dart, but a few moments later the dart has vanished.

The Break-Up (2006)

Corrected entry: When Gary arrives at the bowling alley for the couples league, he is informed by Brooke that since they broke up and are no longer a couple, he couldn't be on the team. Gary was then voted off by his teammates. Brooke was not dating anybody either so why was she able to stay in the league? And why didn't Gary protest that?

SAZOO1975

Correction: Brooke didn't get kicked out of the league because they were all her friends and not Gary's.

A team cannot kick someone out of the league, just off that team. So therefore the mistake still counts.
