The Goldbergs (2013)

DannyDonnieJoeyJonJordan - S2-E10

Factual error: In this episode Adam and Barry are mocking Erica for being a fan of New Kids on the Block when she was younger - she must have gone off them pretty quickly as NKOTB only became well-known outside of Boston (their home city) on the release of their second album in 1988.

The Goldbergs (2013)

Double Dare - S3-E13

Factual error: When watching a game, Barry mentions what the Eagles need to tie he mentions a two-point conversion. The NFL didn't adopt this until 1994, so it wouldn't have been an option in the 1980s.

London's Burning (1988)

Season 13 generally

Factual error: In series 13, when phone numbers are referred to, they usually start 0808 (even mobile numbers). UK phone numbers starting with those numbers are freephone numbers and wouldn't be used for private use, or even for mobiles (which all start with 07).

CSI: NY (2004)

Reignited - S9-E1

Factual error: Towards the end, Eva Mason blows up Leonard Brooks' flat in an attempt to kill him, by heating up gas from the stove using an uncovered light bulb. This wouldn't work as shown as the filament from the bulb would burn out before igniting the gas - and besides, a spark from the light switch would have ignited it first.

Invictus (2009)

Factual error: During the match against England, the PA announcer mentions the try scorer as 'No. 13, Ben Clarke'. Ben Clarke actually wore No. 7 - No. 13 in that game was Will Carling (England captain none the less).

CSI: NY (2004)

Page Turner - S5-E2

Factual error: All the victims were supposedly killed using thalium-201 - a radioactive isotope with a half-life of just 72 hours. e.g.: In the space of two months there would be 10 nanograms for every gram applied to the source of the radiation poisoning (i.e the book) - not enough to make Sid ill without making the perp very ill. He would have had a much higher dose than anyone infected.

The A-Team (1983)

Quarterback Sneak - S5-E4

Factual error: When the two men are watching the soccer game between the USA and East Germany, look at the 'East' German shirts - they are actually WEST German shirts (white with black trim, with even the stylised eagle of the DFB (the West German Soccer Federation). (00:01:00)

Octopussy (1983)

Factual error: When the German police are chasing Bond into the air base, they are simply waved in at the gate. That wouldn't happen - without authority, local authorities wouldn't be allowed to enter an armed forces installation, especially a foreign one.

New Tricks (2004)

Season Final - S1-E6

Factual error: Mobile phone signals cannot pass through steel very well if at all, so the recording of the mobile phone conversation given to the head of UCOS should be breaking up in places, or the call should have been cut off when the door was closed - it shouldn't be crystal clear.

Castaway (1986)

Factual error: In the scene outside the pub, a Ford Sierra is seen driving past. These were not introduced into the UK until Autumn 1982. The film is supposed to be set in 1981.

Factual error: Following the incident with the microscope, the Russian Forensic Scientist is afraid she will be sent to Chernobyl - Why? Since the breakup of the USSR, it's in a different country (Ukraine), so the Russian Authorities are highly unlikely to send her there.

Silkwood (1983)

Factual error: Karen points out to Thelma that she should have given a nasal swab (to detect internal contamination) after being 'cooked', yet on both occasions when Karen is being scrubbed after being contaminated she has blisters all over her face - something which should be avoided when performing decontamination as this can allow contamination to enter the body.

Sugar & Spice (2001)

Factual error: When the girls are using the ultrasound scan, no-one seems to put any gel on the area to be scanned - you won't get a clear scan without it.

Factual error: When the boy is carried home after being stung, several people mention to 'take out the stingers'. As he was stung by wasps, you don't need to do that.
