Star Trek (1966)

Miri - S1-E9

Star Trek (1966)

Miri - S1-E9

Trivia: Many of the "onlies" in the final scenes of this episode were the children of Star Trek's cast and crew. They included William Shatner's two young daughters, Leslie and Lisabeth Shatner. (00:43:40)

Forever Knight (1992)

Dying to Know You - S1-E6

Continuity mistake: Schanke calls Nick to tell him they've found Mrs. Hedges' body, and says, "They cut her throat, man." We even see a brief shot of the bloodied corpse. But later in the morgue, Nick says, "She was asphyxiated, right?" and Nat agrees. The corpse on the autopsy table now appears to have an intact throat. So, which way did Mrs. Hedges die? (00:22:15 - 00:38:10)

Factual error: Though she wore medical smocks and occasionally a baseball cap to hold back her hair, Natalie was never correctly attired when she performed her autopsies. In fact, she usually worked with her hair loose and hanging down over the corpse, which may have made her look prettier, but is a serious breach of forensic etiquette that could contaminate the evidence. Even the best-coiffed coroners still have to wear sterile caps and gear.

Dark Shadows (1966)

Show generally

Revealing mistake: When "Dark Shadows" did its version of "Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde," the Hyde character, John Yaeger, had prosthetic nose trouble during a fight scene. His rubber schnoz came unglued and nearly fell off. He was subsequently given a nose job.

Monk (2002)

Mr. Monk Goes Back to School - S2-E1

Continuity mistake: At the school tower murder scene, Randy's coat is buttoned up over his tie, but changes suddenly when Stottlemeyer says, "OK, bring him up." The coat is immediately unbuttoned and open all the way in the very next shot.

MacGyver (1985)

Pirates - S2-E15

Factual error: A 250-year-old sea chest recovered from the ocean floor is opened, and all its paper items are perfectly dry: the log book can be opened and read, and the letters can easily be unrolled. Highly unlikely. The chest's wood and pitch would deteriorate (salt water is extremely corrosive), and the paper should be damp and crumbly, at the very least. Even more likely, it would have become a lump of unreadable sludge.

Star Trek (1966)

Mirror, Mirror - S2-E4

Continuity mistake: When Kirk sits down to consult the computer, the big green potted plant on the shelf behind him is there in full shots and missing in close-ups. It's much too large to be completely hidden behind him: if it shows up behind his head in full shot, it should show in close-ups, too, but it doesn't. It's not there. (00:16:30)

Other mistake: 1840 Parallel Time: Julia Collins suffers from a bad case of tangle-tongue syndrome when she says, "Don't you think that I would like to help Bramwell gill the coast of Brutus Collins?"

Star Trek (1966)

The Changeling - S2-E3

Continuity mistake: After Spock mind melds with Nomad, Kirk hustles him out into the corridor. In the shots taken from behind Kirk, the Captain's left hand is high on Spock's shoulder. In the reverse angles, his hand is several inches lower on Spock's arm. (00:35:00)

Who Mourns for Adonais? - S2-E2

Continuity mistake: Kyle reports the landing party's whereabouts on the surface, and Spock asks, "And Apollo?" Kirk had no chance to call the ship after Apollo revealed his name - so Spock should not have known it. (00:22:10)

Revealing mistake: When Apollo first grows large, the shimmering edge of the special effects matte is visible in the sky just above his right shoulder. (00:13:35)

Forever Knight (1992)

Dance By The Light Of The Moon - S1-E7

Revealing mistake: The flashbacks to 1228 in this episode portray some of the same events - Janette seducing Nick, LaCroix making Nick a vampire - that are also shown in "Dark Knight." But here, Nick, Janette and LaCroix are all wearing completely different costumes.

Who Mourns for Adonais? - S2-E2

Continuity mistake: Apollo's lightning bolt throws Scotty across the table and dislodges a big bunch of green grapes from the fruit bowl. They fall onto the table. But when Kirk's crew later assemble at the table, the green grapes aren't there, or in the bowl, or anywhere in the temple. They magically reappear in the bowl just after Spock gets through to Kirk on the communicator. (00:18:55 - 00:41:10)

Revealing mistake: 1967: The dying Dr. Lang fumbles with a reel-to-reel recorder, making a tape that we'll hear over and over again later on. Only he "records" his message with the machine turned off: the reels aren't moving.

Other mistake: 1967: A persistent fly insists on clinging to Barnabas' forehead as he plots to kill Dr. Hoffman. He tries to ignore it, tries walking briefly out of camera range, then comes back and tries shooing it away on camera, but it keeps coming right back.
