Demolition Man (1993)

Character mistake: When the alarms go off in the police station indicating the code 187 all the police officers are confused as to what is going on since they know nothing of MDKs. Zack Lamb should have already known what the code meant, yet he never says anything and just waits for everyone to figure it out.

Suggested correction: Zack Lamb is quite old and it's possible he simply forgot what the code meant. He was a pilot too, not a street cop.

Demolition Man (1993)

Plot hole: Even if the 30 bus passengers that were already dead had been burned up in the explosion of the building their bodies would still have been autopsied after the fact, thus proving that Phoenix had killed them beforehand and vindicated Spartan.

Suggested correction: Considering a building fell on the bodies it would be extremely hard to determine the actual cause of death. Phoenix also could have killed them in a way that doesn't easily show in an autopsy, like asphyxiation.

Forrest Gump (1994)

Factual error: There is a modern 1960's car in the background when Forrest says Bubba's grandmother cooked shrimp. As young as his grandmother appears to be, no such car would have existed at that time.

Suggested correction: Bubba's grandmother is never seen. The person we see serving shrimp is Bubba's mother and then it skips to his great-grandmother.

Arachnophobia (1990)

Revealing mistake: When Atherton is using his fog machine to spray up into the tree look to his left, you can see another spray of the fog being added to the tree by an unseen stagehand.

Character mistake: Watch the extras playing the Cairo civilians walking around just before the big swordsman reveals himself to Indy. Several of them are just aimlessly walking back and forth as if they have no idea where to go.

Continuity mistake: When Bond is having his chase through Las Vegas with all the police there are several shots of the casino clocks in the background. At one point the time goes from 1:30 to almost 4 o'clock in just a few minutes.

Dr. No (1962)

Stupidity: What purpose is served by having Bond and Honey's coffee drugged and knocking them out just for them to wake up later in the same room? They can't escape, so all the film needed was a time jump to when they were getting dressed for the meeting with Dr. No without being drugged.

Revealing mistake: Look carefully at the close-ups of C3PO's waste where the exposed wires are. You can tell it's fake wiring on top of a black suit which is particularly noticeable when the actor inside the costume as his stomach is moving when he has to breathe.

Poltergeist (1982)

Revealing mistake: When Diane bends down under the sink during the famous chairs on the table scene you can see the large potted plant on the other side of the counter shake, obviously one of the crew members trying to get down under the counter before the camera switched back to the table.

Total Recall (1990)

Plot hole: It's revealed by Cohagen that he had everything set up for Quaid to get to Quato including convincing Quaid that Benny was an ally but there's no way Cohagen could have known that Quaid would have chosen the other taxi driver instead of Benny. So if Quaid had picked someone else or even decided to walk to where he was going Cohagen wouldn't have got anywhere in drawing Cuato out.

The Love Bug (1968)

Plot hole: Thorndyke was never informed of Jim's living address while Jim was in his showroom the first time Herbie appears so how in the world could Thorndyke have known that Jim lived at the firehouse or even knew that was where Herbie was?

Plot hole: If Chester's plan was to steal the machine the entire time why didn't he just have his people steal the machine while it was still floating in the air during the first film? There was plenty of time to capture it before the food started mutating so what was he waiting for if he needed it so bad?

Plot hole: When Snake gets knocked out by the Duke he wakes up with twelve hours left but for some reason the guards watching Snake makes him sit where he wakes up until he's got only two hours left.

Dr. No (1962)

Revealing mistake: Every time a shot of the hallway outside of Bond and Honey's room in Dr. No's lair is shown there are several doors on the same side of the hallway that lead too nowhere. Notice when Bond enters the room looking for Honey near the end we don't see the reverse of the doors from the inside of his room.

The Abyss (1989)

Other mistake: At the end of the film the NTI's entire ship ascends from the abyss to the surface. What happened to the rest of the sea floor that Bud, Lindsay, and Coffey had to race over during their battle? All of that seems to disappear when the mothership comes up.

jbrbbt

Suggested correction: Maybe I didn't understand what you are describing as an error. Only the ship ascends, the sea floor stays, well, on the sea floor. Since the ship is huge and has been there for a while, it is likely that a large part of the ship was covered by silt, making it appear to be sea floor.

Plot hole: It makes absolutely no sense that there would be over a dozen cops and soldiers in the lobby of the courthouse and leave only two cops to guard Lecter regardless that he was locked in the makeshift cell. Yes the plot needs a reason for him to easily escape but this still goes against every conceivable protocol for such a dangerous prisoner especially when there were dozens of armed personnel just in the scene alone when he was being transferred from the plane.

The Love Bug (1968)

Plot hole: When Jim is shown what he has to pay for the damages Herbie did to Mr. Wu's shop he says he has no money. First off if he had no money how in the world was he able to put down any money on the red sports car he had just purchased that night? Secondly, what happened to the prize money from all the races he was winning from the previous few months?

The Abyss (1989)

Revealing mistake: When the crane falls down in front of the rig and then over the cliff into the abyss it's as if the rig was already just a few yards away from the abyss but when the umbilical pulls the rig again (after Bud says to grab onto something) suddenly there's enough space for the rig to be dragged at least a few hundred yards as if the rig never moved from its touchdown position earlier in the film.
