Trivia: The movie ends with a shot of Mrs. Voorhees old wrinkled head on Jason's shrine. Originally her head was supposed to open its eyes, and smile. Steve Miner comments on commentary how he decided to get rid of the idea, as he felt it would make the movie come across as more cheap and hokey than normal.

Continuity mistake: When Ginny shows up at the campgrounds late, as she gets out of her car to go speak with Paul, she pushes the driver-seat sunsheild down. After their talk, she goes back to the car and the sunsheild is up. (00:20:35 - 00:21:55)

Continuity mistake: The message Susan leaves on the answering machine is a little bit different when Karen first hears it than when the detectives hear it again later in the movie, and when we actually see Susan leaving it.
