Factual error: When Ponyboy and Johnny leave the bar after going there to see Dally, there is a song playing on the juke box called 'Jack Daniels if you please' by David Allan Coe. This song was written and released in 1978 but the movie takes place in the '60s.

Directed by: Francis Ford Coppola
Starring: Tom Cruise, Matt Dillon, Patrick Swayze, Rob Lowe, Emilio Estevez, C. Thomas Howell, Ralph Macchio
After the rumble, Dallas and Ponyboy drive to the hospital where Johnny tells Ponyboy to "Stay gold" and then dies. Dallas loses it, leaves the hospital and robs a store where the cashier shoots him. While this is happening, Ponyboy goes home were he tells everyone about Johnny and Dallas. Dallas calls Darry and tells him what happened and they tell him that they will meet him in the park. When Dallas gets to the park, the police show up and he pulls out his gun. The other guys get to the park and yell that the gun is not loaded but Dallas gets shot to death. The last scene is Ponyboy writing about what happened.

Steve: Beer for breakfast there, Two-Bit?
Trivia: The scene where Dallas tips over in the chair at the drive-in was not scripted - this is a blooper they decided to leave in.
Question: In the scene where Johnny and Ponyboy are talking in the lot, Ponyboy goes over to sort out the fire. The camera zooms up on Johnny and you can hear voices echoing. Does anyone know what they're saying? I can't make them out.

Answer: Johnny is recalling the argument he heard his parents having; the voices were meant to sound angry but not to be understood. Its to help us understand his horrid home life.
