Plot hole: When the girls are looking through the old newspapers in the library, Roberta stumbles upon the newspaper's story of her mother's death. But this takes place in 1970; Roberta's mother died when she was four, meaning her death occured in 1962. Yet they were looking for Dear Johnny's death, which happened in 1945. Why would she be looking at 1962 papers? (00:39:15)
Visible crew/equipment: In the big game of Red Rover at the beginning of the film, as Bobby runs over to the four girls, in one shot all of the four girls tape markers on the grass are extremely noticeable. Sam is standing on a red one, Chrissy on a blue one, Roberta on a green one and Teeny on a yellow one. They're obviously gone in all the following shots. (00:01:35)
Teeny: Chrissy, truth or dare?
Teeny: Have you ever been french kissed?
Chrissy: Are you kidding? I don't want to get pregnant!
Roberta: You can't get pregnant from french-kissing!
Chrissy: I know that, beetle-brain, but it's common knowledge that if you tongue-kiss a boy, he automatically thinks you'll do the deed with him. They can't help it. They're driven. It's the male curse.
