Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief

Question: How did Percy's mom know how to access the elevator to get them up to Olympus? She's human and Percy's god father left when he was a baby.

Answer: At some point in her relationship with Poseidon, he told her about the elevator. Otherwise, she could not have known.

Chosen answer: What exactly are you asking for here? I'm sure they can sense the heat, but "get hot" is a relative term. When I lived in Brazil for a couple of years, I'd be walking down the street, sweating my brains out while the kids on the side of the road would be complaining that it was too cold out for them. Yet we're both still just as human. Now, if Hades is a god -- god of the Underworld, no less, as you point out -- how are we supposed to know how hot is too hot for him?

Question: Why is Medusa able to turn the lady in the garden to stone and why is Annabeth afraid of her? Per Medusa's curse that Athena put on her she can't harm women.

Question: Why is the hydra able to spit fire, when it suppose to be a water creature?

Answer: Water creature? The Hydra is a MYTHOLOGICAL creature, with many different variations in different stories. She lived in a swamp, had bad breath. This is just another different interpretation of the same Greek myth.

Question: How can Percy and his friends play all the games in the Lotus Hotel casino, when they are still teenagers and the legal age to gamble in Las Vegas is 21?

Answer: Because it's not a real casino. People are lured in then are trapped and drugged by eating the lotus cakes.

Continuity mistake: When the bus passes Poseidon and he disappears, the people walking near him also disappear. There is an Asian couple walking from left to right across the shot that should have been still there after Poseidon is gone. Sloppy SFX that sort of spoils the effect of a god being able to vanish.
