Jurassic Park is a fantastic-though somewhat dated now-film about genetically-engineered amusement park animals and the first people that they terrorize. Alan Grant, Ian Malcolm and others try to stop the creatures from leaving the island, setting up the rest of the franchise. A true Classic.
Seen this movie in theaters and over 2 decades later it still holds up.
Might have been influenced by my 11-year-old son's insistence on "NOT GOING." I spent much of my time utilizing my superb peripheral vision watching his delightful facial expressions. It is still the best in the franchise. Technology is better now, but they need stronger stories, without so many absurdities. Despite some goofs, the first one seemed far more plausible than its successors.
Continuity mistake: When Tim and Lex first arrive, Lex is wearing a purple tank top with a colorful design, and in the following scenes or even between consecutive shots her tank top changes to completely different designs, though it's the same style of tank top.
Dr. Ian Malcolm: I'm always on the lookout for the future ex-Mrs. Malcolm.
Trivia: The T-Rex roars are a combination of tiger, elephant, alligator, whale, and dog sounds.
Question: Was there any truth to Hammond's comment that none of the rides at Disneyland worked when the park first opened? I just find that a little hard to believe.

Chosen answer: Yes. The first opening day of Disneyland in California was catastrophic. The pavement was fresh and the sun was so hot high-heeled shoes actually sunk into the walkways. Counterfeit tickets were made, resulting in more people than the park had room for. They ran out of food and drinks. Bathrooms clogged and shut down. Many of the rides broke down on opening day. The Storybook Land Canal Boats had to be pulled by cast members in rubber boots. At the time, there were no guide rails for Autopia; some of the cars crashed into each other, making them inoperable. A gas leak in Fantasyland lead to the land being temporarily closed for part of the day.
