Cars

Easter egg: In the normal DVD version of Cars, be in main menu and have 'set up' highlighted. Watch the bottom right hand corner. When the logo for Dinoco appears push right and select it. A short part of the animated short 'Bounding' will appear, except that Mater and Lightning are used instead.

Easter egg: On the original "Cars" DVD, let the menu animation run twice. On the second time a Dinoco logo will appear for a few seconds. Quickly get to it and press select or enter. You will be greeted with a modified version of Boundin', used to test the animation for Cars.

Other mistake: After the first race, in the scene where Lightning is rushing out on the stage thinking he is the winner, loads of confetti is shot out when the King and Chick Hicks gets onto the stage. The confetti is then falling down, but not a single flake hits any of the cars. However, in the following shots, you can see plenty of it on the stage underneath the cars, even though they haven't moved.

Lightning McQueen: Look, Doc said when I finish, I could go. That was the deal.
Doc Hudson: The deal was you fix the road, not make it worse. Now, scrape it off! Start over again.
Lightning McQueen: Hey. Look, grandpa, I'm not a bulldozer. I'm a race car.
Doc Hudson: Hohoho. Is that right? Then, why don't we just have a little race - me and you?
Sally: What?
Lightning McQueen: Hohoho. Me and you? Is that a joke?
Doc Hudson: If you win, you go and I fix the road. If I win, you do the road my way.
Sheriff: Doc, what're you doing?
Lightning McQueen: Hahaha. I don't mean to be rude here Doc, but you probably go 0-60 in like, what? 3.5 years?
Doc Hudson: Then I reckon you ain't got nothing to worry about.
Lightning McQueen: You know what, old timer? That's a wonderful idea. Let's race.

Trivia: "Route 66" was the original title of this film, but the name was changed to "Cars" so as not to imply a connection with the television show "Route 66".

Chosen answer: Blown tires are common in NASCAR and usually the result of exactly what McQueen did, run too long, too fast, on old tires. They show him not taking new tires during the yellow caution, and then all the green pit stops, he only took gas. Excess heat from high speed driving can increase a tire's pressure, and with "old" tires, it couldn't handle the stress.

Absolutely incorrect. Tyres bursting in NASCAR is an absolute rarity, and it is usually caused by vehicle to vehicle contact. You cannot get a race tyre so hot that it bursts unless you start at ridiculously high pressures, which would make car impossible to drive anyway. The tyre probably had a puncture from running over debris.

That's why I used the word blown and not bursts. Obviously the film exaggerated a blown tire, but I thought that would be obvious to the viewer where everything is exaggerated.
