Continuity mistake: In the scene near the beginning when Johnny Blaze falls from his bike and raises to look at Mephistopheles, when he lowers his cane to the ground it lands to the right of his foot yet when it flips to a frontal shot the cane is in the centre of his body with no time to move the cane.
A motorcycle stuntman, Johnny Blaze, makes a pact with a dark force, selling his soul to save his dying father. When the bargain goes sour and his father isn't saved, Blaze is transformed, gaining raging superpowers crushing anyone who stands in his way. Based on the Marvel comic series.
Trivia: Peter Fonda in both "Ghost Rider" and "Wild Hogs" makes reference, albeit subtly, to his character in "Easy Rider." Nicholas Cage parodies his dream sequence in "Raising Arizona" where his evil side is riding through the desert on a motorcycle, and shoots a lizard off a rock by the side of the road.
