The Game

Nicholas Van Orton is an alienated millionaire businessman whose ne'er-do-well brother buys him a strange birthday gift: an invitation to play "The Game." Suspicious but curious and desperate to change the monotony of his life, he accepts the invitation and finds himself drawn into a labrynth of deception and intrigue. He must discover the objective of the game, to solve the puzzle and save his life. But where does the game begin and reality end? Who are the mysterious people behind the game, and how far does their reach extend?

Plot hole: At the end, when Nick is on the roof and everyone is behind the metal doors, you hear the saws trying cut through the door and the sparks flying. Immediately when they cut through, the doors swing open and everyone is standing right up front with Champagne glasses. No one is holding any saws or equipment or have any in front of them. Nor was there any time for the people cutting the doors to run to the back to hide behind everyone else since the sparks fly right up until the doors swing wide open. (01:53:40)

Suggested correction: There's enough time from when the last lock is cut for Christine to shout "He's got a gun, get away from the door." I counted about 7 seconds before the doors opened. Plenty of time for people with cutting equipment to take a few steps out of the way.

Conrad: They just fuck you and they fuck you and they fuck you, and then just when you think it's all over, that's when the real fucking starts.

Trivia: The final party scene was filmed over a three night period at the real Palace Hotel. To save money, the same food was used all three nights, which stank up the place for days.

Question: SPOILER: How did The Game managed to get Nicholas Jump right into the giant Mattress in the end?

Answer: One of the guys says, at the end, if he (Nicholas) didn't jump, it was his job to push him. It's just good luck he landed right in the correct spot - we can only assume that if he was going to jump in entirely the wrong place he would have been stopped.
