Mean Girls

Corrected entry: When Regina gives Principal Duvall the Burn Book, she states that there are only three girls in the whole school who aren't in it. Following this scene, as the girls are fighting in the hallways, Principal Duvall calls on all the girls in the junior class to the gymnasium. Why would he assume that all the girls in the hallways are juniors seeing as Regina had just told him the Burn Book contained all the girls in the school, not just the juniors? (01:03:55 - 01:08:20)

Correction: He wouldn't assume but maybe he recognized all the students and realised that all them were from the junior class. He knew the students.

Corrected entry: In one of the final scenes where Cady is competing against contestant Kraft, Kraft states that the answer to the math problem is 'the limit is negative one' and is told the answer is incorrect. It is actually correct.

Correction: Actually, Cady got it right and Kraft got it wrong. If you use L'Hopital's rule on that problem, and then plug 0 in, you'll get -2 over a very small number. That's not -1, it's a huge number, which only gets larger as you approach 0. Therefore the limit does not exist, as Cady said. Check the graph of the function at x=0 for further proof.

Corrected entry: At Cady's party, when she is in her room with Aaron and she is sick, she is sick below his waistline, ie. either on his pants or on the floor and not on his shirt. However in the next scene when he walks out of the house he is wiping sick off his shirt.

Correction: People can, and often do, eject vomit more than once per incident. She must have done it again before he could move out of the way.

Corrected entry: When The Plastics go to Regina's house for the first time, Karen walks over to the counter to put her bag down twice. (00:17:50)

Correction: If you watch carefully, we never actually see Karen set the bag down the first time. She may have hesitated for some reason, then finally decided where to put it.

Corrected entry: In the canteen when the different groups are being described to Lindsay Lohan, the music being played is the theme music from Futurama. The composer of this film, Chris Tyng, also composed for Futurama.

Correction: Christopher Tyng did not work on Mean Girls. (See his imdb pages). The composer for Mean Girls was Rolfe Kent. The song in the scene and the Futurama theme song are both based on the same song: Pierre Henry - Psyche Rock. Mean Girls uses the Fatboy Slim Malpase Remix.

Corrected entry: In the scene when Regina, Gretchen, Karen, and Cady are at the mall, Regina asks to use Gretchen's cell phone. Considering all the money that Regina has, don't you think she would have her own cell phone?

Correction: She asks to use her cell phone because she doesn't want her number to be the one to show up on caller ID. Gretchen is the only one stupid enough to let her have it.

Corrected entry: The snake that Cady's dad is shown holding in the clips from Africa is a Burmese python. These snakes are not found in Africa.

Ian Mugford

Correction: That's because it's not a Burmese Python but an African Rock Python (which are found in Africa). You can tell the difference by the pattern.

Corrected entry: At the beginning of the movie when Cady is leaving her parents to go to school she almost gets hit by a bus you can hear her mom scream. In the next shot of her mom you see her scream but nothing comes out.

Stephen Edmonds 1

Correction: Cady's mom only screamed once. Her mouth is still open from her scream. When most people scream, they rarely shut their mouth right away.

Corrected entry: When Cady and Gretchen call Regina, without Regina knowing Gretchen is on the line, and then Karen is called, it is definitely night time outside the windows of Cady and Gretchen's. However, daylight pours in Karen and Regina's windows. They are all calling each other at the same time.

Correction: There was no daylight pouring into Karen's windows. If you look closely, it's just her lamps.

Corrected entry: Cady admits to writing the Burn Book. It's not possible for her to have been able to write the entire book by herself seeing as she's a new student, and all the events in the book did not occur in her time being at the school.

Correction: Either she could have collected stories from other students (either blatantly asking for them or just overhearing gossip), or it simply did not occur to the faculty in light of her confession.

Corrected entry: When Cady is at the math competition, she remembers the limits written on the blackboard behind Aaron's head. However, he was blocking the board and her attention was primarily focused on him, so she wouldn't be able to see what was behind him and therefore be able to picture it.

Correction: Well since she was able to pass calculus, she obviously looked at the board at least once, hence knowing what it looked like.

Corrected entry: When Karen is explaining to Cady how her breasts can tell when it's going to rain, you see a shot of both of them and Cady is beginning to smile/laugh, but then it cuts to just Cady and she has a straight face again.

Correction: In this scene, Cady is trying to take Karen seriously to gain her trust. She could have found Karen's idiotic "breasts can tell the weather" revelation amusing, and smiled, but then quickly made herself stop smiling before Karen noticed whilst the camera was on Karen.

Corrected entry: When Mr. Duvall calls all the junior girls to the gym, he says, "I have parents calling the school asking, 'Did someone get shot?'" But how would they even know about what was going on with the girls fighting? Even if they had parked outside waiting for dismissal (like Mrs. George did), there is no indication of any chaos until Cady and Regina burst out of the doors fighting, which is no cause for alarm.

Correction: Almost all of the kids have cell phones and one young lad is shown calling his mom and saying he's scared.

Jason Hoffman

Corrected entry: After the principal pulls the fire alarm and the sprinklers go off, the girls all get wet. They are told to go directly to the gym, but when they go into the gym they're all dry.

Correction: Actually, if you look closely, you can see dark patches on Cady's shirt underneath her hair. This would suggest that her hair had recently been wet enough to create these splotches. Also Cady's hair looks damp. This is seen when she walks into the gym and everyone is staring at her.

Corrected entry: The girl standing on the table with a red t-shirt on who said that she had a lot of feelings admitted that she did not attend the school. Yet we can see her when all the girls met in the gym just after they all got soaked by the fire sprinkler in the front row. She also raised her hand stating that she was personally victimized by Regina George. So when and how did she get there in the first place? (01:05:45 - 01:11:15)

Correction: It wouldn't be very hard for her to get into the school, even if she didn't go there. Perhaps she was visiting.

Corrected entry: When Cady bumps Ms. Norbury on the first day of school, if you go frame-by-frame, you can see that Norbury spills the drink away from herself. It's only in the next shot that the cup turns toward her. (00:02:45)

Correction: If you have to go frame by frame, it's not a movie mistake.

Corrected entry: After the "Jingle Bell Rock" performance, the Plastics are standing together side-stage when Kevin G. comments to Cady "Good job, Africa." As Cady looks at him her Santa hat is almost down over her eyes, but the very next shot of her shows it pushed back up on her head perfectly.

Vanessa Moman

Correction: The camera is away from her for a short moment so it's possible she quickly pushed it back up.

Corrected entry: When the girls are outside of Regina's house Gretchen tells Cady to check out Regina's mom's boob job. As Gretchen walks away you hear "they're hard as rocks" but neither Gretchen's mouth nor jaw is moving.

Correction: Gretchen's face isn't visible in the shot in question, therefore, it isn't possible to tell if her mouth is moving.

Corrected entry: Cady's Math teacher tells her that her parents need to sign a test so they know she's failing. They wouldn't have known she was failing from the test; it was a high D (68). It even says "D" on the test. How does that work out to an F?

Correction: Some schools have the policy that anything under a C- is failing.

Correction: Also, Ms. Norbury may have meant that Cady is on the way to failing. Cady's recent behavior and performance were unusual. She probably wanted the parents to know.

Corrected entry: When Cady comes out of the bathroom at her party to talk to Aaron, she puts a cup down on top of a stack of CD's. In the next shot the cup has moved considerably.

Correction: I found this on the mistakes page for this film. "When the main character is confronted by her crush in her room, she puts her drink on a pile of CDs, the CD pile starts to fall in the background as there is a shot of the guy, a split second later the cup is on the table next to the CDs, and the CDs are piled differently." Please check for repeats before submitting.

Mean Girls mistake picture

Continuity mistake: After the Halloween party, when Cady walks into Damian and Janis' house, Damian gets scared and tosses all of the popcorn out of his bowl. In the next shot of Damian his bowl is full again. (00:29:05)

Regina: I know she's kind of socially retarded and weird, but she's my friend... So, just promise me you won't make fun of her! (00:01:00)
