Revealing mistake: When the toggle on the gun is pulled back that supposedly injures Captain S. Melly's fingers, it doesn't actually make contact with them.

Continuity mistake: When Sergeant Major sounds the wake up call in Connor's hut, the Sergeant Major's lanyard (the rope on his uniform) is on his right shoulder. But in the next scene when he is ranting at Patrick Mower and the lads, the lanyard is on his left shoulder.

Continuity mistake: Every time the Sgt Major goes into the office the rope is over his left shoulder instead of right.

Continuity mistake: When the nurse helps Len Able to the desk in Major Butcher's surgery, she has her right arm around Len's waist, but in the next shot, she now has her right hand on her hip.

Continuity mistake: When the Brigadier is having a meeting with the other officers at the start of the film, you can see he has one hand on the table, but when we see a close-up of the Brigadier, he now has two hands on the table.

Plot hole: The men and women dig separate tunnels between their huts in just a couple of hours - no way to get it done that quickly. (01:00:00)

Continuity mistake: In the scene where Captain S. Melly and Sergeant Major "Tiger" Bloomer are testing the air raid siren, the handle of the siren gets caught between Bloomer's legs and you can see he is not wearing his headphones, but in the next shot he suddenly has them on.

Trivia: The film was a box-office failure and was withdrawn from some cinemas three days after opening. It only recovered the production cost after sales to television companies and international releases.
