Corrected entry: The Zombies in this film can all run at fairly high speed. Running requires some intelligence (considering you have to concentrate and focus when you run). If they are clever enough to do this, I find it hard to believe that all they seem capable of doing the rest of the time is growling, acting dumb and munching on human flesh.

Gavin Jackson

Correction: While there is a definite science to Olympic running, basic running is a fairly simple and largely instinctive action. Though it does take a sense of balance and coordination, most of this is governed by the cerebellum and brain stem, not the cerebrum that controls speech and "higher" brain functions. Besides, the zombies do have some memory of their lives and would recall how to run with muscle memory, the same way you remember how to ride a bike. It ain't rocket science, or even language.

Corrected entry: Ana takes off a pillow's cover to use it on Luis' neck to stop the bleeding, then she tries to call 911. Right after that, they change to a shot of Luis, and he takes his hand off the cover. The shot changes back to Ana, then back to Luis, but now the pillow's cover is gone.

Correction: You can see his arm is moving faint off the shot with pillow case in hand. You can still see the pillow case in the next shot.

Corrected entry: When the group is making their escape from the gun shop, and the security officer goes up to blow up the propane tank, there is no gunshot heard, only the explosion caused.

Correction: That's because the shot cuts to an outside view the moment he shoots, which not only muffles the sound, but the explosion also happens pretty much instantly, further muffling it.

Corrected entry: When the survivors first enter the mall, Kenneth throws a toilet through the window, spraying glass all over the floor. We then see them finish walking on the glass (you can hear the crunching of the glass as they walk on it). Seeing as she was not wearing shoes, how was Ana able to walk on the glass without cutting her feet?

Correction: It's entirely possible to walk on broken glass without getting cut if you're careful. Also remember she'd only have to take one or two steps to get out.

Incorrect because the glass pieces were big and the glass shattered far enough that she would have to walk more than a step or 2. So therefore the mistake entry is correct.

Corrected entry: In the scene where Andre and Norma shoot it out in the "nursery", note how the spent shell casings from Andre's gun seem to drop from above and land neatly at his feet. In reality the casings would be thrown violently to his right.

Correction: Andre was using a Beretta Model 92, the shell ejection port on that model is on the very top of the pistol, not on the side like a classic .45 or most other popular pistols. In reality the spent casings would fly all over the place.

Corrected entry: In the aerial-view scene where Ana is fleeing up the road in her car, a white van barrels off of a side street, slams into a car and crashes over the pumps of a gas station, which explode. Prior to the van/car collision, if you watch the street that the van comes off of, you don't see the van on the street. The van magically appears from behind the second to the last house on the street, doing 60 plus miles an hour. Before the accident, the street from which the van emerges, can be seen, both above and between the houses. The van can not be seen until the last two houses.

Correction: Already listed and corrected.

Corrected entry: In the scene where they went to check the generator, while in the garage, after the guy gets bit and before the guy yells run, in the back left-hand side a camera man is standing there.

Correction: That's not a crew member, that's Bart standing there.

Corrected entry: When the zombie is eating a dead guy's intestines in the store room of the sports equipment store, the dead guy closes and opens his mouth.

Correction: It is very possible that the man the zombie was eating was not dead yet.

Corrected entry: When they shoot the "Jay Leno" zombie in the head, as the piece of scalp flies up from his head, a grey/silver piece of tubing is visible underneath the prosthetic - maybe an explosive charge? (00:17:05)

Chris Blower

Correction: It wouldnt be a piece of tubing or anything, because thats not how they did the head explosion trick. they put a fake piece of brain under two flaps of "scalp" that open like a trap door, they tied a string to the fake piece of brain, and yanked it out, making it look like he was being shot. the gray thing you saw must have been a chunk of brain or something.

Corrected entry: Near the beginning, Ana speeds away from her home down winding streets in the suburbs. In an aerial views of the houses, look closely at the row of homes at the bottom of the screen. None of the homes are shown with driveways or sidewalks. Essentially, there is no way getting to these homes. This is revealed in the commentary by the director who realized the mistake, but didn't care.

Correction: If you're referring to the homes on the cul-de-sac when the helicopter appears (one has a bright orange roof), there are driveways on each of them. but no sidewalk. Many suburban developments do not have sidewalks (expensive, for a small community). And some streets do not have driveways. A front walk from the street, yes, but no garage or driveway.

Corrected entry: In the scene where Ana gets out of the bath tub and approaches the door, she screams and jumps back before he hits the door. (00:07:25)

Correction: You can see by her facial expressions that she heard the zombie come running at the door, thus she could move out of the way.

Corrected entry: In the newscasts in the Bonus Features on the DVD, there is an announcement from the CDC and a placard identifies it (presumably for non-US citizens) as standing for "Center for Disease Control." Since 1980, the proper name of the organization has been and still is "Centers for Disease Control," having been formed from several public health organizations.

Correction: since this is a bonus feature on the DVD, it can't be counted towards the movie itself, therefore, it is not a movie mistake for Dawn of the Dead.

Corrected entry: They believe there is no way to get to Andy's gun store to rescue him, yet later on they go through the sewers to get the girl with the dog. Why couldn't they rescue him through the sewers earlier, when no major circumstances had changed?

Correction: Going through the sewer was a very dangerous measure. They figured that using the dog was a low-risk, fairly safe way to get food to Andy to hold him over while they made their plans. After the girl ran into the gun shop to get the dog, the rest of the group had to turn to more drastic measures for several reasons: For one, it was now a rescue mission, and they needed to extract the girl themselves. Two, they no longer had the dog anyway so that was no longer an option even if it would have been feasible to send it. And the third and most important reason is that, because Andy was now a zombie, they were working with a very limited and uncertain timeframe. For all they knew, it would be a matter of minutes before the girl was killed by Andy and thus they had to act quickly.

Corrected entry: When they discover Andy on the roof of his gun store, they use binoculars to see him. Through the binoculars, it shows Andy pointing to something. How is it that the girl can see what he's pointing at without binoculars? (00:29:05)

Correction: If you look at a person from a far distance you can still be able to see movements and changes they make. It is not like he is miles away.

Corrected entry: Our hero, recently bitten, is standing on the dock watching his friends sail off into the sunset. His hands are empty, hanging at his sides. Next a shot of the boat, then back to him with a gun in his right hand which he uses to kill himself.

Phillip Churchfield

Correction: Look closely when Michael unties the boat and when he pushes the boat off the dock. The pistol is in the rear waistband of his pants. We just didn't see him reach around and pull it out.

Grumpy Scot

Corrected entry: At the end of the credits when they show the quick shots of zombies, there is a flash clip of the Paris Hilton sex video (which was shot in night vision).

Correction: This is not a scene from the Paris tape, it's a shot of 2 girls kissing. They talk about it in the diresctor's commentary on the DVD

Corrected entry: Towards the beginning of the movie, when the little girl becomes a zombie and is trying to open the bedroom door, it shows the doorknob. In the first shot the doorknob is a long handle, then it changes shots then goes back to the doorknob and it's a regular round knob.

Correction: Long handle is only a shadow of the round knob.

Corrected entry: In the scene where the pregnant Russian woman dies, watch the left side of her neck. There is a very strong, clear pulse throbbing - even while her boyfriend is closing her eyes because she's dead.

Correction: The zombies don't actually die, dead is dead as evidenced when the brain is destroyed. They must drop into some sort of coma for the few minutes of the final transition into zombie. A pulse would not be out of the question.

Grumpy Scot

Corrected entry: The Zombie virus is spread through saliva, if you get bitten you will turn, where as if your blood mixes with a Zombie's you won't turn (such as happened with Ving and the Zombie when they first entered the Mall) How then did the Russian woman's baby become a Zombie? Only blood and elements carried in the blood cross the placenta (meaning come into contact with the baby). A mother's saliva goes nowhere near the baby while it is in the uterus so the baby should have been healthy and alive, not Zombiefied.

troy fox

Correction: When the Russian woman was bitten, the zombie's saliva would have entered the bloodstream, otherwise she would never have turned into a zombie. You said it yourself, only blood goes into the placenta. Well the saliva was in the bloodstream and would've eventually made it to her unborn baby.

Corrected entry: When the zombies storm the mall, everyone is able to use the elevator despite the power being out.

Correction: No, when the guys run from the zombies in the garage and end up next to the gas pump, they are in the generator enclosure. So they refuel it and get the power back on.

Continuity mistake: When Ana hands over the file to Cora, Cora grabs the file on the side. When it cuts she grabs it on the top of the file. (00:01:20)

Question: I noticed on Andy's final moments video on the DVD, the month on the camera goes from May(When he explains the Hollywood Squares game.) To June when he finally turns to a zombie. Was the movie supposed to take place in a month or is that just a simple mistake?

Answer: Yes, part of the point of Andy's video is to give the viewer the timespan of the film.
