The Philadelphia Story

Philadelphia heiress Tracy Lord (Katherine Hepburn) throws out her playboy husband C.K. Dexter Haven (Cary Grant) shortly after their marriage. Two years later, Tracy is about to marry respectable George Kittredge (John Howard) whilst Dexter has been working for "Spy" magazine. Dexter arrives at the Lord's mansion the day before the wedding with writer Mike Connor (James Stewart) and photographer Liz Imbrie (Ruth Hussey), determined to spoil things.

Revealing mistake: In the scene where Cary Grant punches Jimmy Stewart: Jimmy starts falling back (and you hear the sound effect of the punch) when Cary's fist is a good 1-2 feet from Jimmy's face.
