Dr. Feelgood: Hey man, these handcuffs are too tight.
Danny McGavin: Well they ain't built for comfort, pal.
Danny McGavin: You don't wanna get laid, man. It leads to kissing and pretty soon you gotta talk to 'em.
Danny McGavin: Is 21st street on our list?
Bob Hodges: Nah. Poor fuckers are professional victims. Get their ass kicked constantly. Kind of a mixed gang. You got Diamond street there, the ville, and the projects on the west so they gotta fight their way in and fight their way out.
Danny McGavin: They're fucked, huh?
Continuity mistake: When Larry and Rocket are about to go one-on-one in a shoot-out, the car behind Larry is empty. When the shooting starts, the car is full of people. (01:46:20)
Trivia: When Colors was first screened in a university theater, a young film student was of the opinion that the studio who financed this film 'had no right to make a movie about a culture they knew nothing about', and that they were marketing it as a picture about black gangs when it was actually a film about 'two white cops.' This student eventually graduated, wrote a film, and directed it. That film was Boyz in Da Hood, and the writer-director was John Singleton, who at the time had had it with those 'stupid New Jack Shitty exploitation films about blacks.'Allister Cooper, 2011
