Corrected entry: Rod Taylor says he doesn't know how to keep the birds from flying down the chimney and into the house. How about closing the flue? I don't know of any bird that can get through 1/2" thick solid wrought iron.

Correction: He knows how nervous and panicky his mother can be. Since they can't do anything about it, he probably figures the ignorance-is-bliss route is the best one to take.

Corrected entry: Why did Melanie just go right into the bedroom when she could see it was full of killer birds?

Correction: Melanie didn't "go right into the bedroom when she saw it was full of killer birds." She didn't know for sure that there were any birds in the room. She saw a hole in the roof, then stepped forward to get a better look, and she was already inside the room before she realised there was a flock of birds in the room. She then leaned against the door by accident, which closed it and therefore she got attacked.

Corrected entry: In the last scene, Rod Taylor takes the car out of the garage and drives it some distance from the front door of the house and makes Tippi and the rest walk all the way to the car, through the flock of killer birds. Why not all get in the car in the safety of the garage and then drive out safely and avoid the birds altogether?

Correction: For this to happen there would need to be a door from the house to the garage. There isn't.

Corrected entry: Tippi Hedren and Suzanne Pleshette make all the schoolchildren leave the school with instructions to keep quite until in front of the huge flock of killer black birds ... and then instructs them to start screaming and running in a frenzy in front of the Birds. How about staying INSIDE if there are killer birds OUTSIDE...?

Correction: The farmer (forgot his name) was killed because birds flew through the windows in his bedroom. Tippi Hedren says something like: "The windows at the school are much bigger than his (the farmer's)". So instead of staying inside, knowing that the birds are able to come in and kill them all, they try to leave for a more safe place. Unfortunately the birds attack them when they're outside and that's when the screaming and running starts.

Continuity mistake: As everyone runs out of the restaurant, the bushes on the left of the building that were there before are gone. (01:26:10)

Mother in Diner: Why are they doing this? Why are they doing this? They said when you got here, the whole thing started. Who are you? What are you? Where did you come from? I think you're the cause of all this. I think you're evil. Evil!

Question: What's making the birds go insane and attack people?

Answer: It is never explained, probably because it would ruin the mystery of the film to spell it out.

Answer: None of the characters knew why the birds attacked, or the reason it was confined to the one town of Bodega Bay. The incident was so isolated that the outside news media was barely aware it was occurring or knew its severity, so there was no investigation into it at the time. Alfred Hitchc0ck's explanation was that the birds were rising up against humans to punish them for taking nature for granted.
