Sleepy Hollow

Correction: She doesn't exactly parade the fact that she does spells. And during the confusion of the church scene, people were too frightened of the horseman to be noticing her.

Jez

Corrected entry: During the fight on the carriage, everyone jumps to a horse except the Horseman. Watch as the carriage hits the fallen tree. The Horseman has his sword in his right hand. After the Horseman lifts the carriage off himself, his sword is suddenly in his scabbard. (01:31:20)

Correction: We see an axe thrown by the Horesman disintegrate after it lodges in wood earlier on. I imagine his sword is the same. If he loses it, it or just casts it aside, a new copy reappears in his scabbard.

Grumpy Scot

Corrected entry: Right at the very beginning, after the Headless Horseman's first victim, the coach driver, is beheaded, Martin Landau looks out of the coach window to see the headless body 'as stiff as a board' sitting upright in the driver's seat. In reality his body would be limp and probably have slumped forwards or sideways and rolled off the coach. (00:03:00)

Correction: That's what the viewer should assume though.

Correction: We don't need to see his death. A sudden fatal injury (like, for instance, being beheaded) often produces what is known as cadaveric spasm, a tightening of the muscles that freezes the body in place. This is why many suicides are found still gripping the gun with which they shot themselves.

Correction: A body killed instantly, in shock before death is possible to enter a rigor mortis like state at the time of death.

Since Dirk's death was never seen onscreen, there's no way of knowing if he was in shock before he was killed.

I don't know about you, but if I was being chased by a Headless Horseman wielding a HUGE sword, I'd definitely be in shock.

Corrected entry: We are told that the horseman filed his teeth to a point to look more fearsome, but when we see the horseman's skull, its teeth are perfect. (01:34:55)

Correction: The skull's teeth are sharpened, as seen in 1:24:00, when Katrina's stepmother is raising the Horseman. They may have dulled from being buried underground for twenty years, but they're still not normal teeth.

Continuity mistake: We are told that the horseman's sword cauterises the wounds it makes. Earlier on in the film, however, the cuts cause squirts of blood to fly into the air, such as when the scarecrow is sprayed with blood. (00:03:40)

Ichabod Crane: Villainy wears many masks, none so dangerous as the mask of virtue.

Trivia: When Crane starts chopping the Tree of the Dead and he gets blood in his face, this was a joke from the directors as they knew he wasn't expecting the blood. You can see the look of surprise on his face. It was well-known among the cast and crew that Johnny Depp (who played Crane) hated anything being sprayed in his face.

More trivia for Sleepy Hollow

Question: Why was The Headless Horseman ordered to kill the Killian family including their incredibly young son?

Answer: As revealed by Lady Van Tassel to Katrina during the film's climax, the midwife Mrs. Killian was abreast of the secrets regarding the affairs of Peter Van Garrett with the widow Winship, as well as their unborn child. Mrs. Killian revealed this secret to Lady Van Tassel right in front of Mr. Killian, which signed both of their death warrants. However, Lady Van Tassel most likely commanded the Headless Horseman to kill the Killians (as opposed to just saying Mr. & Mrs. Killian), to which the Horseman would instinctively murder their child too. It may have been an oversight on the part of Lady Van Tassel, as the child would undoubtedly be ignorant of affairs and the intricacies of legal matters regarding wills, but then again, she probably didn't care anyway.
