The Princess Diaries

Continuity mistake: When Josh finishes his debate speech, and the teacher tells him to change back into his uniform, watch Fontana. She goes from sitting casually to looking like she's enjoying the fact that he's taking off his shirt, and back to casual again. It's right when Lana is talking about how Josh is her man. Once Josh sits down, Fontana is looking at Josh in the same sort of way.

Other mistake: Before Mia bends over and breaks the finger off the statue, you can clearly see that the finger is just dangling on the statue in the first place.

Continuity mistake: At the end of the movie after the "ball", Mia and Michael are out in the garden executing their first kiss and with different angles of the kiss, Mia's hand are in different positions.

Audio problem: When Fontana says "He's such a show-off" to her friends Lana and Anna at the beginning of the movie, her mouth doesn't move.

Continuity mistake: When Mia and her grandmother enter in the ballroom together at the end. Mia's mom and her date are clearly standing in front of the band, but when Mia is looking for someone to dance with, they are standing beside what looks like curtains. Then as Mia and Michael start dancing you see her mom back in front of the band.

Factual error: The newspaper pictures are too glossy to be newsprint.

Continuity mistake: When Mia says "I bet it goes with anything" when she is looking at Lana's cheerleading outfit, you can see that she is holding her ice cream with both hands, but in the next shot she is holding her ice cream with only one hand.

Continuity mistake: When Mia is eating her grapes during the dinner sequence, the grapes are red, but when we see a close-up of her using her knife and fork to cut the grapes, some of them have changed to a green color.

Continuity mistake: When the queen arrives at Mia's school in the limo, it is seen that it is driven straight. But in the next scene, the school bus is parked right behind it.

Continuity mistake: At the end of the movie, when Mia and Michael are walking outside, Michael puts one arm behind his back. But in the close-up shot, his arm is at his side.

Continuity mistake: When Mia and her friend are riding their go-peds at the beginning of the movie, they leave with jackets, they go up the hill with no jackets on, then, when they arrive at school, their jackets are on again.

Suggested correction: The shot where they go up the hill without jackets is a different day because Lily and Mia are talking about Mia's father being dead and Mia meeting her grandmother.

Continuity mistake: When Mia is in her room preparing to run away, there is a shot of Fat Louie in his carrier, and there is a white spot around his eye. In the rest of the movie he doesn't have a spot on his eye. This is because in the making of the movie there were 4 different cats used to portray Fat Louie. Still a mistake though.

Continuity mistake: When the Queen and Mia are in "her baby" driving to the arcade, and Mia asks if her grandma has any change, their mouths aren't moving in synch with what they are saying.

Continuity mistake: When Mia's mother says "The three of us have to talk" when she is having tea with Clarisse, you can see her left hand is by the green cup, but in the next shot her hand is now over the cup.

Continuity mistake: Right before Mia smashes the ice cream into Lana's chest, you can see that the necklace, which says Lana, is crooked and on the side. On the next shot, without her moving, it's suddenly straight.

Continuity mistake: When Mia and her mom are rock climbing, one shot shows Mia holding on to the rock with one hand, then the close up shows her hands are nowhere near the rock.

Continuity mistake: When Mia is about to run away she grabs her bags then runs to her bedroom and shuts the door. After a couple of shots the door's open again.

Joe: No one can make you feel inferior without your consent.
