Question: Has it ever been established that Gotham City is some sort of separate district similar to Washington D.C.? In the Dark Knight films it was pointed out that the license plates said "Gotham" on them rather than whatever State Gotham is located in. Here, we see Edward's drivers licenses and they also say "Gotham" on them, rather than a State name. Also, has there ever been a distinction made between "Gotham" and "Gotham City"? Because why wouldn't the licenses have the word "City" too?
Answer: It's also been referred to as its own separate state. The city, county and state of Gotham.
Question: When Phoebe is on the phone with Ray, he mentions that the Ghostbusters fire house is now a Starbucks. In the post-credits scene, we see that Winston has purchased the fire house so the Ghostbusters can get back to business, but the fire house looks like it has been abandoned for several years and no other company ever took it over. Did I miss something here?
Answer: Ray was probably being sarcastic, and was simply making a general comment about gentrification in the area.
Answer: Perhaps nobody wanted to take over the place for a few reasons. Historical purpose, high cost... hauntings.?
Answer: It's been 40 years since the Ghostbusters disbanded, Ray mostly likely passed by the old place and saw a Starbucks there. It has since shut down.
But they left the ghost trap active? Not likely.
Question: Why can Liv McKenzie not go to see Tara Carpenter, her co-worker/close friend after her near-murder attack? Her absence is done to draw suspicion on her, but as she is later revealed to not be the killer, the question is left unanswered in the film. (00:15:45)
Question: Why did Knuckles say "wait, that wasn't the deal" after noticing Robotnik trying to steal the master emerald?
Answer: Because Robotnik was betraying him. Dr. Robotnik promised to help Knuckles get the Master Emerald, so they could use it to defeat Sonic. But Robotnik was using him all along because he wanted the Master Emerald for himself... he never actually cared about Knuckles and never intended to help him get the Emerald. Thus, Knuckles is shocked and says that Robotnik taking the Emerald for himself was not part of their deal.
Question: Are the Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield Spider-Man movies now part of the MCU?
Answer: No, they are part of the multiverse. The MCU is just one of those universes within the multiverse.
Answer: I almost think the best way to refer to them would be to call them "MCU-Adjacent." Both answers nail it - they're not part of the MCU universe itself, but are canonical to it and co-exist alongside it thanks to the establishment of the multiverse. And considering the "Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness" trailer teases Patrick Stewart as (presumably) Professor X, I think we could probably also apply this to pretty much any other Marvel adaptation ever made that was not made by Marvel Studios itself. It all co-exists and is all canonical to each other through the use of multiverses/alternate timelines/alternate dimensions.
Answer: Their respective movies themselves are not retroactively part of the MCU franchise, but since characters and events from those films crossed over here, they can be considered canon to the MCU's overall narrative.
Answer: No. It's explained that they are from another universe, and were sent back to their universes at the end of the film.
Question: Why does the air traffic controller call Maverick "Ghostrider"? Surely that isn't his call sign?
Chosen answer: The term "Ghostrider" refers to the squadron name. There used to be a Tomcat squadron called the Ghostriders. Usually in a radio call, the squadron name is followed by a number. For instance, in the first fight where we see Cougar get into a spot of trouble with the Mig on his tail, he radios "This is Ghostrider 117 this bogey's all over me, he's got missile lock on me, do I have permission to fire?" That is normally the correct term as to who is on the radio.
Question: How did Patrick Mulligan get a piece of a symbiote? He was killed by Shriek, not by a piece of Carnage.
Answer: It is deliberately never shown on screen, so unless it gets answered in a sequel the audience is left to speculate. Mulligan does come into direct contact with Carnage since Cletus is the person who kidnapped him. In addition, the fight between Venom and Carnage takes place all over the church with the pair constantly stabbing, slashing, and bludgeoning each other. A piece of either symbiote could be somewhere in that building. Again, though this is just speculation since it's never shown how Mulligan is infected.

Answer: In "The Dark Knight," we see Gotham State Police setting up barriers. In short, Gotham has never been shown to be anything akin to the District of Columbia, probably because Gotham is never meant to be the capital of the country.
