Revealing mistake: Vivian talks on the phone as she walks towards the camera. A couple walks behind her in the opposite direction. A bicyclist emerges from the left-center side of the screen and heads straight across the path, perpendicularly towards the couple. The bicyclist "disappears" behind Vivian, just before he reaches (crashes into) the couple, and the camera cuts to Carol. Seconds later, Vivian still walks towards the screen, and a different person walks where the couple was. (00:14:38)
Continuity mistake: Some of the advances Mark made walking toward the edge of the cliff were negated with camera shifts, placing him at earlier spots. (01:28:17)
Continuity mistake: The cucumber half is facing in the opposite direction after the camera shift. The flesh is toward the right of the screen, then to the left. Also, the knife Margaret set near the corner of the table next to the cucumber half disappears; it should be below her right arm when she is reaching for her drink. (00:15:17)
Plot hole: When James leaves the resort after finding his passport, he packs his bags and boards a bus headed for the airport. The bus is then intercepted by Gabi and the gang, and James gets off, leaving his belongings on the bus. The following morning, when he proceeds to leave the resort a second time, he is shown packing his bags in his hotel room, despite having left them on the bus.
Suggested correction: We only see him get off the bus, the next shot is him walking with the cars behind him. They could have got his stuff from the bus in between shots.
Continuity mistake: The front view of the desk shows a few neatly arranged and parallel piles of papers, but the view from the desk's chair shows the piles non-aligned and the highest pile (thick file folder) more askew than the others. None of the men are touching the papers. (00:07:30)
Continuity mistake: Alice stands in the doorway on her way to the elevator. In the front view of her, a long fern leaf extends to the inner edge of the door frame. In the rear view, the fern leaf's long tip extends a couple of inches into the doorway. (00:02:40)
Continuity mistake: Alberto and Alan are walking along a flat road between rows of houses. Alan looks up the road to see where his father "disappears to" and the road ahead is composed of arches along an upgrade. Alan continues running, but not very far, and suddenly there are grades in front and back of him, but the road is flat in the distant (somewhat aerial) view. After Alan runs a little further, the road behind him is arched again. The topography changes too fast and frequently. (00:06:00 - 00:06:50)
Continuity mistake: It is about 10:17 on the wall clock when the surprise birthday party guests shout "Happy Birthday." By the time the fourth guest hugs Lyra, the clock jumps to 10:55 (38 minutes within the 22 seconds of hugging). (00:02:13 - 00:02:35)
Continuity mistake: When Lenny is directing the choir, and really getting into it, the cigarette he has jumps from his mouth to his hand instantly.
Continuity mistake: Graham lies with a rectangular food container set length-wise down his chest. When he picks up his fork (but does not rotate the container), the container suddenly becomes width-wise across his chest. (00:07:50)
Continuity mistake: The scenery view shots near the beginning of the movie apparently are not meant to represent the passage of time (such as "one year later"), so the various changes in foliage - from green leaves (Summer) to leafless trees (Winter) to orange leaves (Autumn) to green leaves (Summer) and back to Fall foliage - do not make sense. Factual error: Fodor is woken by the nighttime cry of a fox, whilst staying on the Isle of Man. There are no foxes on the Isle of Man, and none were present in the time period of the film. (00:37:45)
Continuity mistake: The way the potato chips are arranged in the bowl (diagonally rising towards the right of the screen, with one chip protruding upward near the middle) changes with a camera shift (to no chip sticking up in the centre and other chips angled more towards the left of the screen). Nobody shifted the bowl 180° to account for the difference. A little later, the chips are in a mound (nobody is eating any), followed by being level to the edges of the bowl. (00:01:25)
Continuity mistake: The windshield of Jud's car is still cracked while he is driving to Timmy's house from the hospital; however, when he gets out of his car and you see the windshield, it doesn't have a crack in it. (00:22:00)
Continuity mistake: Cait plays the "forehead game" and correctly guesses that she is "snow". Cait apparently removes the paper from her forehead (off-screen). The timer bell rings, and the paper is on Cait's forehead as if she does not take it off. (00:57:28 - 00:58:08)
Continuity mistake: Before "The Bailiff" shocks Killjoy in the chair, the skin above Killjoy's left lip is visible, not painted solid white like the rest of his face. Going down the elevator, that section of his mouth is uniformly painted white. (00:20:55 - 00:22:32)
Factual error: Henk arrives in Moscow. The KGB gets a copy of his passport. In the next scene, a building can be seen, and a Trabant 601 drives through the shot (one light out). Trabant was East German made and widely exported on the Eastern Block but never to the Soviet Union. This car is definitely wrong there. (00:30:40)
Continuity mistake: The right side of Miller's [Ryan Phillippe] shirt collar is underneath his suit jacket, but in side views, the shirt collar extends above the jacket (i.e, is visible up his neck). (00:08:45 - 00:09:10)
