Plot hole: Spoiler alert! The entire plot hinges on the villain's gang obtaining the tablet that allows admin access to the building's systems. However, it can only be unlocked via facial recognition and it is keyed only to Will Sawyer's face. In fact, when they finally do get it, Xia unlocks it by holding it up to Sawyer's face. So what was the point of trying to steal the backpack containing the tablet? Without Will to unlock it, the tablet is useless.wizard_of_gore
Factual error: The repairman was freeing the soldiers from inside the locked gate using bolt cutters. The terrorist noticed this on the video feed so they electrified the fence, shocking the repairman. This would not have happened because the bolt cutters have plastic handles just for that reason, to keep you from being electrocuted by mistake. (00:54:50)
Other mistake: Davis tells Kate to go and she jumps out of the falling plane, her chute opening. Davis then takes a minute to free Harvey from the plane as it's still falling before they both get out. Once they are free falling he takes a few seconds before he pulls their chutes as well. However as they are coming down close to the plane crash site, Kate is near level with them in altitude as they are all coming down together. With how high she was when she jumped out compared to the time it took for Davis and Harvey to get out of the plane and open their chutes, she would have been several minutes behind them in the sky, not right next to them. New this month Factual error: When they are in quarantine after returning to Earth, they are in a room with several magazines. One of the magazines is an issue of National Geographic with the cover image of them standing on the moon. That is the December 1969 issue of National Geographic, whereas they were actually in quarantine in late July/early August 1969.
Factual error: Grain engulfment is not depicted in a scientific manner. It is not possible for engulfment to happen without a valve being opened at the base - which has not been shown in the movie when the boy falls in the grain storage. It is very unlikely that two engulfments will happen so close by in the same storage - if so, they will converge quickly. But, the movie shows both victims help each other one by one. They succeed in 5-10 seconds. Engulfment become entrapment in less than 20 seconds and require more than thrice the body weight to pull some one out (unlike one kid being able to pull other one out while both are on the grain). Finally, they both sit on the door and avoid entrapment.
Plot hole: At the angle of decent and the speed it was traveling (still burning from reentry even), when the space shuttle crashed in the opening of the film, it would not have left much of anything behind. The kinetic explosion that would have resulted would have downed the forest around it for a good distance leaving a crater, and the clean up crews would have been lucky to find any piece of the ship itself still intact bigger than a football. Much less been able to find any discernible remains of the crew. Yet bodies were being taken out in still relatively good condition. And probably most unbelievable is that the glass containers holding the Symbiotes were not even broken.Quantom X
Continuity mistake: In Guardians of the Galaxy, Gamora's backstory is that she is the only one of her kind left. But here we're told Thanos killed half her planet and kidnapped her, meaning half of her people are still alive. He even says "the children born have known nothing but full bellies and clear skies. [Zen-Whoberi] is a paradise."brianjr0412
Character mistake: During the opening raid of the FSB safe house, an operator is seen taking hard drives out of a safe. As he does, he states over the radio that they are "SSDs" (Solid State Drives), when in reality they are normal HDDs (Hard Disk Drives), which are noticeably larger than SSDs.Matdan97
Continuity mistake: As Lara is headed up to the boat's pilot house, she obviously leaves the hatch open, but a far away shot shows the door closed again, as she's climbing the ladder. When she goes back down, it's suddenly open again. You could claim it's the rocking of the boat, but as she's grabbing her gear, the door stays open.
Character mistake: When Logan tries to use both his and his mom's phones after her fingers were broken by the Man in Black, he throws them in disgust when he finds the SIM cards have been removed. However, every cell is capable of placing a 911 call regardless of whether a SIM card is present or not.Len Mulaski
Continuity mistake: Meg starts the trip wearing a red flannel shirt over a blue cardigan over a gray T-shirt. Along the way she first drops the flannel shirt, then the cardigan (the color of which seemed to have gained saturation). She's not seen carrying them or any bag that might have held them. When she finally faces It, all the clothes are back on. Calvin's case is even more evident: he starts with a jacket over a red shirt, ends up with a just a now-gray T-shirt (matching Meg's) but is back with jacket and red shirt at the end.
