Best TV mistakes of 2017
Continuity mistake: When Hannah makes the list with names involving her past events, they differ substantially between the close-up when they're written and the final wide angle once the paper is finished. Check Alexander: first an irregular oval with a straight side, then a perfect oval.
Revealing mistake: The first time we see the raid on the senator's room, 2 security guards are shot in the head. The blood spray from the second one emerges a fraction of a second before the gun fires. The second time the raid is played out, everything happens exactly the same way, but this time the spray matches the gunshot.
Continuity mistake: When the Krill shuttles land, they park on either side of the entrance to Epsilon station, but when the Orville crew are escaping, the Krill shuttles are gone momentarily (during the firefight), only to return to their proper places a moment later as the Orville shuttle takes off.
Factual error: In the opening sequence when Maddie is supposedly driving from Michigan through Ohio and back to Pennsylvania, you can very briefly spot the reflection of a "TD Canada Trust" in the car window. This is because the show is actually shot in Vancouver. In the United States the company is simply known as "TD Bank", which doesn't operate any branches in either Michigan or Ohio.
Continuity mistake: When Deborah is talking to Mrs. Chadwick, Mrs. Chadwick's hair keeps changing position and is either covering or not covering her name tag. And when the camera is on Deborah, we still see Mrs. Chadwick's head and she doesn't move it at all.
Continuity mistake: During the shoot-out near the end, the bullet holes in the pillars Frank and Kyle hide behind change and also disappear at various times. In one shot we see 2 holes when Kyle steps out to shoot, then when he ducks back when fired upon, the 2 holes are gone.
Other mistake: As Young Sheldon is a prequel series to Big Bang Theory, this episode is at odds with episode 2-13 of Big Bang Theory, "The Friendship Algorithm," in which Sheldon is unfamiliar with books like "How to Make Friends and Influence People," which he reads in this episode of Young Sheldon, produced nine years later but taking place twenty years earlier.
Continuity mistake: Spoiler! At the end of the episode, after Elektra decapitates Alexandra, the blood pattern on her changes changes when she turns around and asks "any questions?" Most noticeably more blood on her forehead and two streaks down her chin that suddenly appear.
Factual error: Johann Eck is dressed as a cardinal and Albrecht von Brandenburg addresses him as "Your Eminence" and kisses his ring. In reality, Eck was not a cardinal. Albrecht, however, was. It should be Eck showing deference to him, not vice versa. Albrecht was also only thirty, half the age of the actor playing him.
Audio problem: Right after Carol finishes studying by singing a rap to Katie, Katie congratulates her and Carol hurries out. They exchange several lines of dialogue, but it all appears to be dubbed. During most of the dialogue, each character's mouth is not shown when they speak. However, the cadence of Katie's moving jaw can still be seen from behind, and appears to last longer than the audible speech. Additionally, Katie and Carol can each be heard to speak when it can be glimpsed that their mouths are not moving.
Factual error: A CH-47D Chinook helicopter is shown on the tarmac with N160BE in large white letters. This is a civilian registration number, not one for a military aircraft. A check with the FAA shows it is registered to Unical Aviation at City of Industry, California.
