Continuity mistake: There are two scenes during which Harry is shown having visions of the Dept of Mysteries while he is asleep. The first scene occurs after Harry's confrontation with Seamus in the Gryffindor common room. There are shots of Harry lying in bed wearing a short sleeve, crew neck tee shirt, but when he is startled awake by the vision of Voldemort, he sits up wearing a buttoned henley tee. The next day is the first day of Defence Against the Dark Arts class with Umbridge. That last shot of Harry in the henley tee shirt was cut from a later scene. Later in the film, when Harry has the vision of Arthur Weasley's attack, he is wearing the henley tee shirt. (00:34:00 - 01:09:35)Super Grover
Revealing mistake: In the day following the Rider's first ride, Cage shows up at the street that has been burned down the center. A person very close to the beginning of that scene walks on the broken up rocks and it moves as if it were a pad or a sponge. It wasn't a rock moving because the street moves with the rock. It happens a couple of times during that scene.
Continuity mistake: The beginning of the movie was set on Thursday, the day after Jim died, and Bridgette's face was just fine. Later in the movie, on Saturday, Bridgette was at the funeral with cuts and stitches on her face. Then, the movie goes back to Tuesday, the day before Jim died, and they show Bridgette running into the glass door and cutting her face. So if it happened on Tuesday, the first scene of the movie (Thursday) should have shown the cuts on her face.
Continuity mistake: When Giselle opens the window in Robert's apartment, in the exterior shot, to sing for furry cleaning help, there is a set of three windows to her right, with a balcony. Odd thing is, in the interior shots the window she sang from is to the left of the couch, but to the right of the couch there are three French doors, not windows, that open to the balcony. Continuity mistake: Once the chipmunks are inside the food cupboards, they begin to devour everything inside. Theodore is seen chewing off a corner of a box of Lucky Charms cereal and eating the cereal that pours from the hole. But a few shots later when the same box of cereal can be seen, the hole that Theodore gnawed from the corner of the box is gone and the corner is fully intact. (00:11:00)Hamster
Continuity mistake: First day in class, when Hoager "beeps" at Jesse, Mrs. Myers writes two words. The word "verb" is over the word "subject" on the board, in the close-up. After she turns around, in the following shots, the word "predicate" appears, disappears, then reappears and "subject" is written over "verb" now. Additionally, during this scene, all the other writing on the blackboard changes between shots as well. (00:06:15)Super Grover
Plot hole: During the climatic battle in the snow, Lyra Belacqua is about to get shot by one of the soldiers, and Iorek Byrnison comes to her rescue and is able to surprise & kill the soldier. The problems with this is where Iorek appears would have been right in the line of sight of the solider, and bearing in mind that Iorek is VERY big, wearing armour so as not to blend in with the white surroundings, and making lots of noise, it would have been impossible for Iorek to stealthily appear from nowhere.
Factual error: Near the beginning of the film before James McAvoy heads up to the house for the evening meal, he is seen looking up through a skylight when a Lancaster bomber slowly flies overhead. At the time it was was supposed to be 1935. The Lancaster bomber did not fly until the beginning of 1941. And if it was supposed to be an Avro Manchester, then they only had two engines.
Revealing mistake: At the end, there is a group of people with their backs to the camera, facing & waving to the Fantastic 4. As the F4 fly towards the camera and out of the shot, the crowd turns to continue waving to them. One small boy in white remains facing the wrong way, still waving, until another child grabs the back of his clothes & turns him to face the right way.
Deliberate mistake: Loch Ness is portrayed as a clear lake, as shown in the underwater scene. In real life, Loch Ness is so murky there is only six feet of visibility. Obviously deliberately done for the sake of the storyline.
