Plot hole: There are six metal bars mounted around the circumference of the water wheel's axle. In the wheel's interior, when Jack frees himself he lands on his feet, begins to run and promptly hits his head on one of those axle bars, then falls out. Moments later, when Jack returns and runs in the wheel, he is shorter (way more than a foot) than all six spinning axle bars, which would make that previous shot impossible, however humorous it is. Continuity mistake: When Bullock is warning Reeves of the coming winter blizzard, she is looking through pictures that depicted her and her friends enjoying the snow. She then turns to the dog and asks "Remember that day? You were not happy". However it's revealed that both characters have the same dog, given to Bullock's boyfriend by Reeves, so when the snow happened in Reeves' time - 2004 - the dog was with him.
Continuity mistake: When Ashley moves in with her two friends she breaks their bathroom mirror with a hairdryer. Later on in the movie, in the scene where her two friends are giving her a pep talk about luck, we see the same bathroom mirror in the background, which is now perfectly fine. Right after that, Ashley goes into the bathroom and looks at herself in the mirror, which has suddenly gone back to being broken.
Continuity mistake: Charlie and Scott come across the empty Santa suit in the flashback to the first movie, and the body and all the limbs of the suit are flat in the snow. A shot from the unconscious Santa's right shoulder then shows his arm and gloved hand still upright and in position to wave "bye-bye" before he disappears.Scott215
Continuity mistake: Cecilia and Raymond are on the end of the dock and Raymond turns around and runs. Cecilia then says her line, turns around and runs. In the next shot the two girls are running towards the end of the dock. You can see Raymond running towards them but Cecilia is gone. She should be in the scene running the same way. (01:28:05)
Plot hole: Julia dies in the underwater escape trick tank because the axe couldn't get her out in time. However, if she was able to open the lid from inside the tank, get up, over, and down, then close the lid (all quickly, silently, and without assistance) when the trick goes properly, then there is no reason that the four men standing around could not have simply lifted the lid, either acting a key in the fake padlock to preserve the trick, or using a key if it's real. At this point she could have gotten her head above water and draped her hands over the side of the tank to stay up. That done, the crisis is over, and she must only wait to calm down enough to get herself down, or be assisted. Cutter built the tank, so he knew how strong the glass was. The only explanation for using the axe was to allow Julia's death, thus advancing the plot.Phixius
Continuity mistake: After Marcus kills Kraven, we cut back to Selene and Michael. As he talks about her saving his life and that how everything has changed, part of Selene's fringe switches from hanging in front of her face to tucked to the side between shots. In the closeup shots it hangs in front of her face and in the wide shots it is tucked to the side.THGhost
Continuity mistake: After Homer drops the butcher knife when he sees the web, in the shot of Homer, Edith and Lurvy, before Fern joins them, Edith holds the large blue sponge, but as Wilbur turns to see the web she is visible behind him and the sponge is gone. When Edith says, "It's nothing short of a bonafide miracle," in Charlotte's close-up, the sponge is back in her hand. (00:37:10)Super Grover
Audio problem: In the shot where the kids are locked in the police car, banging on the windows yelling at the policemen, their cries are muffled as if the car was totally closed up. As the camera zooms in, you can see the front driver's side window is open so the kids' voices should be much clearer.
