Character mistake: Meredith admits during the ethics seminar that she has been sleeping with Bruce, the HammerMill rep, for discounts on paper/paper supplies for the company, as well as Outback steak coupons, for 6 years. But, Dunder Mifflin did not begin selling Hammer Mill products until 3-2 "The Convention" when Michael got the contract.Anastasia Nicole Lapidakis
Character mistake: At one point in the show, Roger throws a bucket of water (in disguise as Scotch Bingeington) on Francine claiming "Wet T-Shirt Contest!" Francine looks disgusted when Roger states "Eh, give this one a four" to the guy judging the contest, then says to Francine "Don't feel bad, you've had three kids." Francine replies "I've had two." and Roger gasps and puts a consoling hand on Francine's shoulder. This is wrong because Francine has birthed four children. She previously gave birth to Bailey (Hayley's twin), and Greg and Terry's baby in Season 3 Episode 7 "Surro-Gate." (00:14:15)Travis Love Benson
Character mistake: In an early scene with Yvonne Hartman, she says "We've just measured the ghosts' energy at 5000 gigawatts." There are at least two mistakes here: (1) watts are a unit of power, not of energy (that would be joules); (2) later on, when Hartman is showing the Magnaclamp to the Doctor, she refers to imperial tons and says "Torchwood refuses to go metric", but a gigawatt is a metric unit.paolog
Character mistake: Marshall's whole career focus is saving the environment, so it's a poorly written character choice that he buys plastic glasses to avoid a dish-washing feud, boasting that they can just throw them away. (00:20:10)
Character mistake: When Jet tells Katara and Aang to waterbend the water from underground in the geysers, Katara states that she has never waterbent on water she couldn't see before. However, six episodes prior to this, in 'The Warriors of Kyoshi', she waterbends the water out from Aang's lungs to save his life.
Character mistake: Sam describes the books as being from "pre-Biblical lore" and then says they are written in Aramaic. Aramaic was a language during New Testament Biblical times and didn't exist in pre-Biblical times i.e. prior to 4000 B.C.E.
Character mistake: In the epilogue, Charlie illustrates the relationship of mathematics to real life by discussing the golden ratio and its presence in a host of real-life situations, including the shape of a nautilus shell and the distribution of petals in a flower. These claims are disputed by some mathematicians (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Golden_ratio#Nature), and the one about the nautilus shell one is untrue (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Golden_spiral#Spirals_in_nature). It's possible Charlie is just repeating what he has read or heard without investigating it for himself, but this is uncharacteristic of him.paolog
Character mistake: When Rich refers to the film showing Davis (decades ago), he figures they were in "Asia... Mongolia or somewhere." However, the film cannister had "Tibet, 1937" written on it - important enough to show the audience, but not for the character to read? (00:40:25)David R Turner
