Factual error: A ham radio requires the person to hold down the button while talking. Numerous times in the movie they are talking without pushing the button.

Suggested correction: This is actually subtly addressed in the film. The magic which allows the radio to work across time also allows the two men to speak without pressing the button. There is a moment where Frank wonders what is going on with the radio and presses the button a few times to talk but then notices that he doesn't have to press the button to be heard.

If that was true, then it wouldn't make sense for them to continue to show Frank and John hitting the squawk bar throughout the film.

Bishop73

That is a separate issue. The mistake entry states that you need to hold the button to talk on a ham radio, which is true, but the magic ham radio in the film doesn't require it. If the actors continue to occasionally press the button that could be considered a character mistake but it could also simply be a force of habit by the characters.

Boiler Room picture

Factual error: In the scene where the FBI agents have taken Giovanni Ribisi in for interrogation, one of the FBI agents says at one point "...and I want the whole C:/ Drive backed up on a floppy.", which is pretty hard to do, if not impossible, unless you've got about a 5Mb hard disk drive (depending on compression levels). But later on in the scene where Ribisi is actually doing it, he does it in about 10 seconds...with a 1.44MB floppy.

O Brother, Where Art Thou? picture

Factual error: The film takes place in the Thirties. The song "You are My Sunshine" is featured, but was not recorded by Jimmie Davis (its composer) until 1940. [Acknowledged by the directors]. (00:11:15)

Memento picture Memento mistake picture

Factual error: In the beginning, Leonard looks at a copy of John G/Teddy's driver's license. The expiration date is listed as 2-29-01, but of course, 2001 was not a leap year, so there would've only been 28 days in the month. (00:12:45)

Snatch picture

Factual error: In the scene where Cousin Avi takes Bullet Tooth Tony's Desert Eagle, he unloads on the dog & kills Tony by accident. He shoots a total of 10 shots, but Desert Eagle .50's only hold 7 in the clip & one in the chamber. He never reloaded his gun.

Gone in 60 Seconds picture

Factual error: Right at the end, Memphis escapes by jumping via a flatbed towtruck. The ramp is put down on those to tow away a vehicle so it should be backed right up to a vehicle to lift it on. That begs the question of why the ramp was down with no vehicles anywhere near it. The maximum distance that any driver would want to maneuver with the ramp down would be a couple of feet straight back.

Screwed picture

Factual error: After the attempted kidnapping, Norm Macdonald's face is in the Newspaper the next morning. This is not possible because the crime was committed the night before and not discovered until the very morning his face is in the Paper. There would not be enough time for that article to be written.

Lucky Numbers picture

Factual error: This movie is supposed to be set in the 80's as it says in the beginning of the movie, however, during many shots where the street is visible from the news broadcast center or the scene with John Travolta in the street, there are many cars which were not around. One of these cars, for example is a 2000 Dodge Intrepid.

Shaft picture

Factual error: In the scene where Shaft has chased the guy running from the drug bust and caught him in the hall with an empty gun you can plainly see the slide is locked back on the bad guy's pistol (indicating an empty magazine). When Shaft steps out to arrest him (before the bad guy jumps out of the window into the other building) you can clearly hear the 2 clicks of a firearm hammer falling on an empty chamber. With the slide locked back, the hammer is locked back also...it would never make any clicks.

Requiem for a Dream picture

Factual error: When Marion picks up the phone to call to score a hit, the number she should dial is 934 8777. However, listen to the pitches of the keys she dials. The pattern should sound like: EECDCCC. The pattern she dials is: DCDEDDD. She is clearly not dialing 934 8777. (01:16:25)

The Watcher picture

Factual error: When the police are looking at the reflection of a neon sign in the glasses in the picture of the girl, the letters are reversed as you might expect. But the sign is on the glass front wall of the shop, facing the outside. Since the photo was taken inside the shop, the inside view of that sign would have already been reversed, and the reflection should have been the right way round. (00:35:15 - 00:39:40)
