Factual error: At the graduation carnival at the end of the movie, Danny enters wearing a letterman's sweater and explains to his buddies that he earned it by lettering in track. However, on his left sleeve are two stripes, indicating that he lettered in two separate years. Since you are only awarded a stripe for each year you letter, and since Danny was a senior when he lettered in track, his Rydell letterman's sweater should have had only one red stripe on his left arm.Pawwsumm
Factual error: When Clark speaks to Jor-El for the first time in the Fortress, Jor-El says "I will have been dead for many thousands of your years..." Fine in theory - Baby Kal-El travelled to Earth at above light speed so time passed differently for him. However, as such, wouldn't Jor-El have seen Earth as it was thousands of years ago? Which also makes there a problem with all the things Kal-El was taught during his voyage to Earth, as Jor-El references Einstein by name, for instance, and he would not have existed at the point when Jor-El sent him to Earth.
Factual error: At Professor Jennings' place, the stoned Boon and Katy sing "Hey Paula." The song was only pressed in November 1962 and didn't break into the charts nationally until late December of that year, whereas the scene depicted takes place sometime in the autumn of the same year, before the song would've even been recorded.
Factual error: Jake takes a huge piece of gold and condenses it down into a small strip. It is then lifted with no difficulty. For the science of the film to work, this would have to be done without losing any of the gold's mass, or they could just get a small piece. As of such, the condensed gold would be just as heavy, if not heavier than in its original form.Quantom X
Factual error: During the fire scene at night, the water truck has "Vasser" printed on the side. Water in German is spelled "Wasser."
Factual error: At the end of the fight between Pai Chang Tien (the Old Man) and Shu Chin (the fan-wielder), Pai catches his opponent with his pipe on the larynx and strangles him to death. In his death-throes Shu Chin groans until he dies; but with a piece of wood pressing down on his windpipe, he realistically wouldn't be able to make such a pronounced sound. (01:19:10)Daniel4646
Factual error: In the sixties retro scenes vehicles can be seen that didn't start production until the seventies.
