Other mistake: When we see the "regulators" riding over the hill on the way to kill Django and Schultz, if you look carefully at the right-center portion of screen, you can see one of the stuntmen fall off his horse and the horse continues to run down the hill without him. To make matters even worse, it appears the stuntman rolls right in front of another horse and gets trampled. (00:41:00)Spencer Crouse
Other mistake: During the final shootout in the saloon, young Joey yells, "Shane, look out!" Alan Ladd whirls around and his gun goes off. But the gun isn't pointed anywhere near the bad guy who is standing on the second floor balcony. Shane more than likely shot the furnace that was off to the right. Yet, the bad guy still manages to do a face plant on the barroom floor.SoCalRuss
Other mistake: The protected copy of the Bible is placed at the end next to a copy of the Artscroll Tanach which includes the Hebrew/English version of the original bible as well as the other 39 holy books, so they had it all the time.
Other mistake: At the very end, when a man is painting the "F" of the city's new name on the water tower, with white paint, you can see that though the brush is white, and it is touching the surface of the water tower, no paint is left on the surface of the water tower. Nevertheless, the painter continues painting the letter in the next shot, even though no paint is left on the surface. (01:36:00)
Other mistake: When Marty returns to 1985 from 1885 the time machine is destroyed by a train. What is strange is that not only does the train not stop (which is mandatory in the event of an accident) but there is also no reaction from people nearby, such as those in the vehicles waiting to cross the track at the level crossing. Later, when Marty returns to the site with Jennifer, there is still no sign of police officers or other officials.
Other mistake: Throughout most of the film, Mattie Ross' gun is correctly shown to be a Colt's Dragoon .44 caliber revolver. However, in the scene where Tom Chaney is looking down at her from the top of the well into which she had fallen, the gun in his hand is a Colt's Model 1860 Army. Presumably, when he, too falls into the well after being shot by Marshall Cogburn, the gun goes with him. When Cogburn retrieves the weapon before helping Mattie out of the pit, the gun is once more a Colt's Dragoon.
Other mistake: Jack Twist's Thanksgiving dinner has a TV clip from a 1977 American Football game which cuts to Ennis Del Mar's Thanksgiving dinner which has an ice skating competition from 1980 playing on the TV, but then later the charity dinner where Jack Twist meets his soon-to-be lover has a banner saying 1978, two years before the previous Thanksgiving scene with Ennis Del Mar.
