Factual error: In the scene in the glass elevator, when Mike Teavee wants to push a button, he presses the TV Room button. The elevator stops going down and immediately moves horizontally. The characters within the elevator are thrown against the wall from the sudden change. Factual error: When the shop vac shoots the golf ball at Mr. Wilson's gonads, it only affects him for around ten minutes. The shop vac was able to shoot a glob of paint over 50 feet in the air so the speed and impact of the golf ball would have done much more than put Mr. Wilson in extreme pain for a short while. The impact would have likely caused internal bleeding, swelling, causing him to vomit, probably a rupture, requiring him to be hospitalized. There is no way he is walking away from that, he wouldn't even be walking at all.
Factual error: Finishing his rounds on the morning of Christmas Day, flying over downtown Chicago, the sun is over the horizon west of Chicago, Sunrises occur in the east, not the west. (00:26:10)

The footage of the Dallas game, where the referee (Cuba Gooding) messes up the coin toss, you clearly see the sky right over the crowd in the stadium. The ESPN people say it was in Dallas. In Dallas, the Cowboys play in a dome. The hole of the dome is in the center of the roof and the sky would not have been shot so easily. Also the dome has artificial grass.
