Factual error: In the opening day clips, they show 49, Tim Wakefield, starting. The starting pitcher that day was 38 Curt Schilling (Wakefield never played that day). Furthermore, the clips show them playing against the Texas Rangers; opening day 2004 was against the Toronto Blue Jays.
Suggested correction: Not Curt Schilling, Bronson Arroyo started the home opener against Toronto in 2004.

Factual error: When Kate gives Angie a ride back to Kate's house/apartment, the outside scene shows a road sign for PA-51. PA Route 51 is a road in southwestern Pennsylvania, not a road near Philadephia, which is where the film is set.

Factual error: When Dodge and Lexie are in the building running from the police, you see an exit sign. This movie is set in the 1920's, before exit signs were invented.

Factual error: When Gregorio and Ingrid are being chased by a helicopter during their wedding, the helicopter goes between two stone posts and the helicopter's blades break the post tops off. The problem is that both of the tops fall forward, which is wrong - one should fall forward, the other one should fall backwards. (00:05:50)

Factual error: During the Thanksgiving sequence, all of the characters are outside in shirtsleeves. This is odd as by November, it is cold in Wisconsin.

Factual error: When one of the men visits a doctor and learns he is terminal, the X-ray in the scene is upside down.

Factual error: When Mr Bean arrives in Paris from his Eurostar train, he arrives in Paris Nord train station. In reality, the Eurostar platforms are fenced off to prevent train-hoppers and are against the station wall, rather than the middle.

Factual error: You hear Richard unzip his pants when he sees the woman diving into the pool, but even before he goes to the window he is wearing boxers. Boxers are all buttoned, they don't have zippers.

Factual error: In the scene right after pinback shoots the beach-ball alien, we see the Dark Star space craft cruising past a planet with a sun in the background. You can see a reflection on the planet which is coming from the space craft. I'm sorry, but usually ships in space are not large enough to reflect off a planet, especially to the degree this one does. (00:48:20)

Factual error: When Dora and Paul walk into find the newborn baby kitten on the floor, it shows what a kitten would actually look like if it was newborn. However, after they save it and are with all the kittens later on, the kittens are walking around and they have their eyes open. Kittens don't open their eyes or walk for at least 2 weeks after being born. In the movie, they had just been born.

Factual error: The film is set in 1987 but most of the street lights seen throughout the movie are LED street lights and some high pressure sodium Philips lanterns (produced from the early 1990s to early 2000s), neither of which were around back then. Similarly many of the shots of the M1 motorway show modern cars and smart motorway/variable speed limits, which never existed at the time.

Factual error: In the scene where Ms. Ungermeyer returns to the hotel and takes the elevator upstairs, Sergei detains her in the elevator (to give Lizzie time to get into her room) while the classmates, including Kate, walk up the stairs. Since the rooms were on the first floor, Kate should have reached her and Lizzie's room before Ms. Ungermeyer; however, they enter the room at the same time.

Factual error: When the first robot is trapped in the lift, the teenagers shoot the propane tanks on top of the lift in order to get them to catch fire and explode, killing the robot. However the teens are firing pistols or shotguns, and these do not contain incendiary ammunition, which is what is required to make the propane to catch fire.

Factual error: Shane is a lieutenant and the Principal is Petty Officer first class. Shane states the Principal is the senior officer. This is wrong as the Petty Officer is a Non Commissioned Officer, while Shane is a commissioned officer. Shane outranks the Principal.

Factual error: When the plane takes off headed for Las Vegas, the shot out the window below shows runways 35 and 41. Runway 41 is impossible because ALL runways at airports are only numbered 1-36.

Factual error: During the ceremony on Liberty Island at the end of the movie, Chief Vincent wears three stars on the lapel of her dress blouse. In actuality, an NYPD chief would wear stars on her shoulder plate.

Factual error: In the final standoff, Smith shoots Hertz by holding cartridges between his fingers in the fire. This is not remotely believable. The casings, weighing much less than the bullets, would have been blasted off while the bullets themselves would have gone nowhere. (01:15:15)

Factual error: At the end of the movie, Effie comes out with two AA-12s. As she fires these guns, they have the sound, effects, and firing pattern of an assault rifle. These two guns are shotguns, not machine guns. (01:13:00)

Factual error: Calendar date at the very beginning of the film (in the police station), shows the dates of Saturday 20th/Sunday 21st July 1983. However the 20th and 21st July 1983 fell on Wednesday and Thursday.

Factual error: The movie depicts Tignes-Val-d'Isère as the closest ski resort from Switzerland. This is actually not the case as if you cross the border here, you end up in Italy, over 60 km away from Switzerland. The closest ski resort from Switzerland in France is actually Chamonix.
